Ethics of last minute auction "poaching"
Blbloom, I agree in that text. I didn't mean a seller inflating his own auction. I meant it in the text of the person who started the thread. Losing an item because of a last minute poacher is well within the rules of an auction! Sorry I wasn't CL...
Ethics of last minute auction "poaching"
Put in the maximum you want to pay for the item and stop whining! It's an auction for cryin' out loud! All bids are fair bids till the auction is over. If you won the auction you still got the item for what you were willing to pay.
Most achingly-beautiful music
Jackie Gleason Orchestra; Music for Lovers Only, we play this LP when we make ourselves a nice candlelit dinner. Basia; Time and Tide on gold CD. Anything by Enya!
Finding original shipping containers?
Ivory1, You're absolutely right about the original packaging. Shoot, when my wife and I purchased the Kappa's we thought it was definetly our last speaker. Little did we know there was a whole world out there with much better speakers. I really ap...
Greatest Guitar Band
Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" from the album "One More From The Road" has got to be up there! Van Halen, who's gonna argue with Eddie Van Halen! I also like queen, what a unique guitar sound they had, you could tell it was Queen just from the sound...

Dekay, I find your post on bare wire connections sounding better, very interesting. I took the time of making my own speaker cables and would definetely be interested in making a better electrical and better sounding connection. I took the time to...

Most overpriced audio component made
I would love to see how many of you are in business for yourselves. If you were, you would see that Whbg's comment @ 6-11% profit is pretty close to the norm. All you see is what the dealer paid for the item and then what he sells it for, and you ...
Your 5 Fav Rock Concerts
I'll have to add another one. Just got back from The Billy Joel/Elton John concert in Salt Lake City, and it was very good. Well at least to me it was, I really enjoy both of their music. Okay so I can't have 6, let's drop Bad Company.

Albertporter, Yes it was I, and I apologize again! But it does happen, it happens here, and the said part is... we are in the year 2001. I apologize again for stearing this discussion off of the audio (head down in humble position)topic.

Heaviest Amps ever made.
Audiocaptain@aol.com, I'm calling BULLSHIT! I work for a power company, and transformers we install for large current users (hospitals, schools) weigh that much. You had better reinforce your foundation!
Best Customer Service (Manufacturer)
SME! Reg Edey was super at helping me get my SME tonearm back up and running. I was going to purchase replacement parts from him in England, and he referred me to someone in the states to purchase from (saying it would be an easier transaction loc...
