Results of Installing "Porter Ports" in system... Brianw,I tried the FIM last year. Couldn't stand them in my system. I gave it a few hundred hours but the dynamics were constricted and dull compared to the PS Audio power ports I had before recently trying Albert's ports. I have ordered 6 more to...
A personal challenge This thread has caught my eye. I've been smoking a pack a day for about 20 years now and have recently thought seriously about quitting permenantly. I quit for about 3 years 10 years ago but it was tough with everybody else smoking around me, not ...
Results of Installing "Porter Ports" in system... Same with me. Installed the Porter Ports midday Saturday and listened to some CDs Sat night. Much quieter than the PS Audio port it replaced. Very smooooooooooth and the bass is also a bit tighter. Can't wait 'till it "breaks-in".All that for a me...
Telefunken 6DJ8 for my DAC S23chang,I'm going to try the Siemens 7308 you recommended. Meanwhile I got a hold of the telefunken 6DJ8 2 days ago and while my initial impression was that it was really great, I'm starting to feel that the high frequencies might be rolled-off t...
Modifying a PS audio juce bar. Psychicanimal,I'd rather not be without it for an extended period.I'd actually like to try Albert's ports instead of the PS Audio ones.
Telefunken 6DJ8 for my DAC Hi S23chang,Why do you think I would be better off with the Siemens 7308?I have no experience with either of these tubes, though I think the Siemens are readily available. Thanks, Jose.
Solid state amp ultimate stop... Maybe I'll stop at the BAT 6200.
Multichannel Amps anyone using SIM Titan? I've been using the Titan for almost 2 years now. I would say that it's only drawback is the size. This thing is a beast. Other than that, I LOVE it. Build quality is first rate. It's exactly what your looking for, dynamic and smoooooooooooth!
What other obsessions do you have? Mountain biking, for about 10 years now. I bought a Seven Sola last year and I just love the titanium ride.
Bryston or Classe for NHT 3.3 I would recommend the Classe for the NHTs. IMO, the Brystons/NHT combo are just too fatiguing with music. I use to have a 9b driving my VT3s but I was always tweaking it. My current Sim Titan worked a little better but I finally sold mt NHTs.
I'm thinking of getting into tubes, what do you Gfloyd53,Don't worry, just a little case of "culture shock". I had the same experience when I bought a VAC tube pre to go with my SS amp. Let it burn in a little more,150-200 hrs, before you do any critical listening.
2 channel Poll: Vote: Do you use Tubes or SS? Tube pre, tube DAC and SS amp.
Best interconnect for Magnum Dynalab MD100 FWIW, I'm using Pure Note Epsilon REF. It was an "extra" pair I had lying around and it replaced a pair of Audioquest Ruby that I didn't like so much.If it helps you sleep better at night, why not go for the "better" I/Cs.
Power Cord upgrade for Sim Audio Titan amp??? Pure Note Epsilon Ref.
Power Cord upgrade for Sim Audio Titan amp??? Merlocpm,Burn-in is about 200-250 hrs. Should be good after that. I have version 1 but the newer Nites take even less. Rick tells me that the new David series is very close (85%) to the older version of Nites.I can't comment much about the ICs and... |
