Amps Atma-Sphere M-60 Mono blocks OTL design Come on ozzy how do they sound already?? Don't leave us all hanging here! :P
More discrete R2R Mulibit dacs. Speaking of R2R just picked up a 20 year old Audio Note Dac-3 Signature which uses a K grade BB PCM63 chip which is I believe R2R. It sounds utterly fantastic.
More discrete R2R Mulibit dacs. Cool looking Dac but seriously Denafrips? That might be one of the worst names for audio gear ever :-)
Short Lifetime for 6NS7 Tubes Perhaps try using a variac to run your preamp off? I was having voltage issues and high rates of tube failure and got a variac for my amp, I run it at 115 and it's resulted in much longer tube life all around. They are easy to find and cheap on ebay.
SS preamp with tube amp @greginnh what do you feel you're missing from your Esoteric? Did a quick google search and that looks like a pretty special integrated. I'm a tube guy all the way but have a certain fondness for Japanese SS from companies like Esoteric and Accuph...

Best budget integrated choices Well looks like that Marantz 8003 sold but I am sure other good integrateds will come up for sale.
Need Help Ripping My CD Collection Yes to flac and I had great success using the cd-rom drive in my laptop and dbPoweramp ripping software. Super easy to use and inexpensive! Good luck!
break in I personally don't really pay attention to break in, I pretty much need to have my system playing from the time I get home til the time I go to bed unless I'm watching something. So if i drop a new piece in and don't love it I let it play for a fe...
Best budget integrated choices If you're ok with used, and at your budget you should be, this looks like a good deal and Marantz is typically voiced on the warm side:https://www.audiogon.com/listings/solid-state-marantz-pm-8003-integrated-amp-price-reduced-2017-02-0... |
