iPad as a music server? Extremely disappointed that the just announced iPad2 does not have a USB port. So it's back to what Ts0711 has suggested.
iPad as a music server? The upcoming iPad2, to be launched soon in March, will have a USB port and for those whose DAC's come with a USB input, using the iPad as a music server will be a much more pleasant experience. I wait with bated breath.
Kimber's new KS 6000 SC I have recently purchased a pair of KS6063 after a home audition and things are still getting better and better by the day. I agree with most of the descriptions given above about the sound and am grinning ear to ear everyday.
New dCS Puccini 1,21 version A few more interesting observations as I play through more and more Redbook CD's :-1. For JVC XRCD recordings - better with PCM -> Asymmetric Filter2. For regular CD's - if system is warm/tubey, better with PCM -> Asymmetric Filter- if syste...
New dCS Puccini 1,21 version Elberoth2,There is indeed no DSD upsampling with SACD. That said, with the Puccini, when playing an SACD, you can go to the set-up menu, and still switch between what dCS describes in the manual as DSD upsampling or PCM oversampling modes. And the...
New dCS Puccini 1,21 version I got the CD uploaded a few days ago and it's the best Christmas present ever. Just to add to loycheekiong's set-up tips :-1) When playing Redbook CD's, do not upsample to DSD. Go to the setup menu and choose PCM and then use the remote to choose ...

New dCS Puccini 1,21 version Elberoth2,Was there an update on the release date - like, much sooner than next year?
New dCS Puccini 1,21 version I emailed dCS a couple of months back after John Atkinson's follow-up report in Stereophile on the new firmware version. They are still in the process of working out all the kinks in the software and the CD would probably be available from your lo...
Is the new Apple TV better than Squeezebox? Anyone tried Qsonics or Bitperfect? From the reviews in the British press, they seem to be more user-friendly. Haven't seen or heard them myself and if I want one, I would need to specially order it.
dCS Puccini CD transport noise I agree that this is not normal. Mine is as silent as it should be. You should go back to your dealer and get a replacement as it is still under warranty. This is a fundamental quality control issue with regard to the whole transport mechanism and...
Vienna Acoustics The Music owners, what amps ? I am using Bryston 28 SST monoblocks driven diectly by the dCS Puccini and U-clock, for The Music. They seem to be a good match. It all depends on your room. After a couple of months experimenting with toe-in for both the Music module and the base...
Bryston 28B SST I would have to disagree with the observation that Levinson gear beats the 28's in every way. My personal experience is just the reverse - I replaced the Levinson 432 monoblocks with the 28BSST's in my system and the latter pair are just so much b... |
