My list of seller red flags
You are going to do what you will.  But I will say this anyway. I have sold probably as much used gear as anyone in say the top .005% tier as far as numbers. All of it at least seen as "Decent" gear. Most would call the great majority of it, "Hi-e...
Damping between shelves and sandbox
By the way... You can pick up a "Vibration meter", fairly cheap and then actually measure what is going on. Or make one even cheaper. All you need is an laser accelerometer array. Some mirrors and etc. That's what I did.
Damping between shelves and sandbox
Your frogs have no wings? Perish the thought!
Damping between shelves and sandbox
"IF", you mix any liquid medium with the sand. OR, it is simply very humid and the sand becomes damp. Either will totally negate the ability of the sand to act as a "transducer". Where the vibration causing the resonance problem changes from a "ki...
what's the point?
Ok, If you've completed the first part. "Dropping the Crown amp". Preferably off of a very tall cliff. And of course, "Into an abyss from where it may never return". Your halfway there!Rejoice!
Broken Nakamichi CA-7A phono
Please tell me you fixed that Nak ca-7a? The first plain old ca-7 was very nice. But I kept hearing about the phono stage in the ca-7Aii, which I now have. And they were correct! The entire pre-amp is better. I tryed twice on eBay with bo the bein...
OMG, just removed my speaker grills and the sound just opened up to a new level!
Hmm,  "Really nice looking magnetic grills"...…...1. A statement that "I", shall never make.2. (The form needs "must", follow the function). For them, "Grills", to be accepted,  "At all", in any meaningful way. Therefore; Those do not actually exi...
Cat 5, 5a, 6, 6a, etc
Whatever happened to "Cat 10"? It was the only "Categorized", cabling that had an architecture and build quality inherent, that not only impressed me. But absolutely, "Floored", me. And that is hard to do.... "Let alone it's listed spec."  I was s...
Power Amplifier Longevity
To one, Mr. "JHertzlee", First off. I am not trying to be mean. Nor condescending. And I am simply stating the truth as I see it when I tell you that currently? You are of a mind to be more, "Part of the problem". Than, "Part of the solution". And...
Power Amplifier Longevity
And the blind man yelled, "The caps are drying out. The caps are drying out."Ha ha, Finally a "decent", conversation on the subject. But again, many seem happy simply to put two cents in. And some are worth more!Heaudio? .....So you've designed ele...
Custom Plating for amplifier faceplate......any possible problems
Do your own prep on the parts before sending to the plating company. And then "Still", Pay to have the plater go over them again before the process begins. Otherwise you have only about a 50/50 shot of not having problems. "If they do the final pr...
Class D is just Dandy!
Yeah, I would have to agree, GeorgeHiFi. The ML speakers you tried the Flying Moles with wouldn't be exactly conducive to a great listening experience. Too bad. I was using Mag-Planar that were really fast and efficient. But still eventually went ...
Potential subwoofer purchase-a few Q’s
Rythmik, IMHO makes, OK subs. Find one of the Martin Logan, "Descent", model subs and listen to it. It will actually change the way you think about subs to begin with.  I tried them all. And the Descent subs are soo far past everyone else it is ri...
Power Amplifier Longevity
You people are a bit confused. Full of hyperbole, misinformation and bad advice. And I swear a few of you have as well, bad intentions.  I am sure at least a few of you will disagree. But your arguments are devoid of ANY, "actual", facts. It is "H...
Class D is just Dandy!
So, My two cent begins with , "Have you ever heard of (Flying Mole), amps"? I imported some of these a few years back after a friend in Japan recommended them. The one's I received were about the size of a paperback novel. They weighed under 2Lbs....
