What's the "worst" cdp for the money? And for the record - er, CD - ;) I don't think that my Shanling CD player is junk.....I will be using NOS Western Electric 396A's - I just got to get it hooked up....Same with the Genki - Both players have gotten Excellent reviews in (and out of) ...
Do people find the rating system useful? Sogood, I agree. If something is broken partially - it should be rated 1/10 or 2/10. I just sold a Mac MR-80 with one channel bad, but in 7/10 cosmetic condition, but I rated it 2/10 because of the malfunction. That's the way it should be IMO.
What's the "worst" cdp for the money? Just kidding on that last one.......
PC recommendations for Shanling T-100 CDP Tobias, thank you.
What's the "worst" cdp for the money? One problem with this thread is that if you already have one (or more) of the CD players mentioned it this thread, it can be bad to see them listed. I have both the Linn Genki and the Shanling T100. After reading this thread, should I just commit ...
PC recommendations for Shanling T-100 CDP Question - Is the 'stock' power cord for the CD-T100 you are discussing look as follows: Cord is about 1/2" thick with black nylon braiding? Male end is Hospital Grade surrounded by shrink wrap? Female end is also shrink wrapped with "Shanling"?T...

Inaccurate computer CD reading? I can give a little info here: First of all, even though both a Computer CD (CD-ROM) and a CD Player play Audio CD's- there is one big difference. The CD-ROM standard uses 'error-correction', as indeed just One misread Bit would 'crash' the progra...
How do I go backwards? Wow Lugnut, great move. Sorta brings tears to my eyes. Lugnut - YOU are a Class Act.
Tubes continue to amaze I remember hearing something about micro-tubes about 10 years ago. They would be TINY, but use low voltages like transistors, kinda best of both worlds - tube sound without high voltages/heat/safety issues. It is a Great idea that would work - exc...
How do I go backwards? I agree with KThomas. The Linn Classik is a great all-in-one system (I have the Kan 4's for speakers). Also, IMO, lose (sell) the 'Northeast' cables.....
I had a spider crawl in my preamp A Problem? I agree with sdcambell, spider alive - no harm done. But if the spider had gotten between B+ and ground - it would - IMHO - be like a convicted killer in an Electric chair - dead person/spider - but the Equipment (your preamp and the electric chai...
Please Help with DAC... If it were me, I would try some of those Dakiom feedback stabilizers first, they are only $99 - DAC's are usually MUCH more expensive than that, and you run the risk of spending, say, $650 for a DAC that you don't hear a noticable difference. Anot...
Is a Denon 5803 too much for B&W CDM 1NT's? Gonglee is right. When low power amps go into 'clipping' - this happens when the output signal voltage is equal to the power supply voltage - this produces many high frequency harmonics which are routed to the Tweeter by the speakers' crossover, b... |
