In search of info from the technical guys Here's something I found on the 'net about the Class D amps in Golden Ear speakers:http://www.moremusic.nl/goldenear/brochures/GoldenEar_Class_D_Amplifiers.pdf
In search of info from the technical guys Yes, there are Class D amps based on certain audio IC chips, which there are many. If you're willing to open up your subs, look inside and look for a large IC with many pins on it and a large heat sink. If you can read the part number off of it, y...
Using a 100 Volt amp on our 120 volt power line ? They have 120V to 100V converter transformers on eBay. I also recommend usage of one - 120V is too high for a 100V device, especially on a power amplifier - it'll run rather hot.

Linn tuners I'd go with the Pekin myself - the controls are a little better, and the display stay on on the Pekin - the frequency display goes off after a few moments - and can't be changed. As far as Sound, they would be about the same. If you have any more ...

We give up perspective to avoid tone controls I find it hard to believe that if one had a high-end system that sounded like it needed some equalization of frequency response, and they put a Manley Massive Passive EQ in their system(as an example), that said EQ would 'hurt' the sound. Note: I'...
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable Calvinj - I agree it can make a difference, but most likely only on quality systems like yours ;)* My gear is mainly "mid-fi" stuff.I think one can acknowledge that some technologies are better, for example, vinyl being superior to digital/tubes...

Is Agon becoming the eBay of audio? john1 - eBay apparently is powerless to permanently stop that scammer(s) that you mentioned. Those bogus listings get put up almost everyday, eBay soon removes them, the bad guys re-list (with the same damn photos of high-end gear every time) - ri...
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable This site is where I first heard the term ’troll’ - I made what admittedly was a controversial point - but there was no attempt to "sow discord/stir things up"- I was simply stating my opinion. My point is be careful using the "troll" term - not e...
Use of a 110 VAC to 230 VAC Step-up Transformer for CD player. Sevs, sorry I don't really know. PLUS, I've discovered that sometimes you can't just replace the 220V transformer with a 110 version of the same output. My example above I said I was going to replace the internal transformer to a 110V version, b... |
