My last Integrated Amp: $5-10,000?
+1 for the Aesthetix Mimas. Internal DAC card and phono card are optional though both are really good if you decide you want those. Good Luck
Quest for an external Dac has resulted in me way down the rabbit hole
You may want to try to find a used Ayre Codex. They can often be found under $1000 and should give you the sound you are looking for. Good Luck!
What's the heaviest speaker you've ever owned? What's the tallest?
Heaviest - Vandersteen 5 at about 180lbs each Tallest - Martin Logan Request around 72" tall
Aurender Conductor App
Did you try calling them? But their support is only open Monday to Friday. I tried to post the number for you but AGOn wouldn't accept my post. Try here: https://aurender.com/contact-us/
Aesthetix Mimas DAC/ Phonostage Card Question
I have a Mimas with the DAC card. It replaced An Ayre integrated and a Codex DAC. I find the internal DAC card to be much more natural sounding then the Codex, as good as that DAC is. I can't say if it will sound better than the MW Oppo. I used to...
After years of separates, I'm going integrated. Anyone else do the same?
One other integrated to consider is the Aesthetix Mimas integrated. You can add a phono card and a DAC card but they are both optional. When I bought mine I compared, in my system, Hegel 360, Luxman 590, Ayre AX-5/20, Ayre EX-8. I almost bought th...
From Benz to?
My dealer often plays his personal Benz LPS on an AMG turntable in his main demo room. It's a great cartridge as you know however, his alternate cartridge is the Clearaudio Stradivari v2 MC cartridge. Given your description of the sound you are lo...
What is your favorite cover?
Warren Haynes One (U2)
Your single most significant purchase mistake?
NHT 3.3's. I bought them after Corey Greenberg's rave review. I could never get them to sound good in my house. I moved on to Vandersteen 3's.
Anybody familiar with both Aesthetix and Audio Research?
I am an Aesthetix lover and currently own the Mimas Integrated amp. I owned the Aesthetix Calypso for many years with Quicksilver tube monoblocks and it was a great combination. When I switched to a Pass 250.5 the Calypso did not work well with it...
High End Intergraded comparisons, Marantz, McIntosh, Levinson, Luxman....
You’ve gotten some really great advice here but I will add another one to consider, the Aesthetix Mimas integrated. You can add a phono card and a DAC card but they are both optional. When I bought mine I compared, in my system, Hegel 360, Luxman ...
Suggestions for an integrated upgrade please
As rbstehno said, the NHT 3.3's do not work well with all amps. I owned a pair for 7 years and experimented with a few different amps and eventually settled on separates. An Audio Research SP-10 and a Counterpoint NPS 400, both of which had tubes....
East Coast Service center referral needed for an ARC D-300.2 amp
You might want to try John Rutan at the Audio Connection in Verona, NJ. I know his technician recently serviced my friends D300.
30 to 50 watts seems to be all I desire
Just out of curiosity, did you check to see if there was an impedance mismatch between your amp and preamp? I had a similar problem with an Audible Illusions preamp going into an Ayre V3. I could not get past 9 o'clock on the preamp without blowin...
