The New Audio Research Reference 6 This one could cause me to jump. I'd love to know the final retail price.REF 5SE is $13K and the GSPre is $15K, so is $17-19K possible?
What Did I Do Wrong? Bill_K,Thank you so much! The info helped.
What Did I Do Wrong? Can anyone please tell me the difference between the EL34B and the regular EL34? I'm curious.....
What Did I Do Wrong? What speakers are you using? Power with the EL34 will be reduced from the KT120. Could you set the bias to 30ma using the KT120 then pop in the EL34? Do you have a spare set of more efficient speakers to try?

Devialet Amplifiers Joeinids experience is not indicative of mine. Can you explain what your experience is or has been?
Devialet Amplifiers One more thing Cosmosound. If you are true tube guy or tube lover, you may not be as satisfied long term with Devialet. It does not have as much tone or density as a tube amp. The Devialet has a "cleaner" sound which is wonderful but not like a go...
Devialet Amplifiers Hi Cosmosound,I am using SF Strads. I've had several others but am the most happy with my Strads.Hi Samhar,I never had Merlin or Joule. I almost bought a Joule preamp but was nervous about tube replacement. I could never find them aftermarket. I w...
Devialet Amplifiers D400. Love it. Very quiet, music comes out of a black background. Tremendous air and separation. Tight, firm bass, great vocals. Lots of 3D. Built-in preamp, dac (with DSD now), phono and amp. All-in-one operation with the ability use the front en...
Any ARC GSPre owners here ? Thank you for the clarification David. I agree.
ARC Ref 75 vs. Ref 75 SE Well said Oregonpapa!Thank you.
Any ARC GSPre owners here ? BIF,Yes, Great advice. In my post above, I meant to mention the Ref 75 SE as an amp choice. I don't feel I need the power of the Ref 150 (SE) class amps and 75 wpc will be enough for me. I am going for the preamp first because I just purchased a L...
Any ARC GSPre owners here ? Thank you BIF, Lostbears and everyone else,I am sure as the year wears on, my choice will be more clear. A friend had the Ref 5 SE and Ref 150 (non SE) and it sounded fantastic. Surely a combination I'd love to have someday. The newer SE amps seem...
Any ARC GSPre owners here ? Thank you for the thoughts. I am not going to jump until either the next major show or the end of the year. |
