Anyone heard Blue Circle Penny's?
I heard them extensively at the RMAF last October. The final version has been tweaked after testing at the Canadian research facility and will be coming out soon. The next show opportunity to hear them will be at the AK fest in May (production ver...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Of course I'm biased, but the Blue Circle gear is exceptional, and a great value given how it's made and how it performs. There's a brand new 150 watt integrated coming out, my guess is it would drive any Ohm speaker beautifully.I'm actually an om...
Tired of Problems with Tube Equipment
Amen. I have also become somewhat anti-tube. Have owned a lot of tube gear. Negatives: They make a lot of heat, they start deteriorating the minute they're installed, they can be expensive to replace and it's a hassle. The best solid state gear is ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Wow, what a long and enduring thread. Can't say I've read it all but I thought I'd add a wrinkle. In case you don't know and may be interested, Blue Circle Audio has introduced a new speaker based on the latest Ohm driver. It's called Penny. You c...
Are Harbeth S HL5's As Good As Reviewers Claim?
Jeffmohd: Other than brief exposure at the last RMAF show, I have not heard the 40.1's.I'm not trying to badmouth Harbeth. I think they are well engineered speakers and it looks like they're pretty successful. Many will find sonic nirvana with the...

I owned the 40's for a few years. Good, but there is a pervasive warmth with these speakers that borders on "muffled" sounding. Most of the British speakers share this characteristic, including some Spendor's I owned years ago. Vandersteens also s...
USB drive vs NAS for storage/streaming/back-up
Good suggestions. Ordered the power cord. As another sonos user with the mod, do you know if they plan on supporting 24/96 in the future? Or improve the software for managing large collections, allow metadata, etc. The basic sonos platform has gre...
USB drive vs NAS for storage/streaming/back-up
Thsalmon: Thanks. I'll investigate NAS units. Need something quiet and cool running that can be in the listening area. As I have a USB drive, don't really need RAID. I'm also running wired and wireless with the Sonos.

-Snell Type A's (original version)-Westlake Audio BBSM 10 VNF'sBoth great cone/dynamic speakers, Westlake's have'nt been bettered in my system 5 or 6 speakers later and much additional $$$.
