Canton Reference 2 I have new reference 5’s. Very, very good. Beautifully made and beautiful to look at. There’s a reason they’re one of the top manufacturers globally, although they never made much of a dent in the US.
Solid state amp vs tube amps Solid state has gotten awfully good, whether class A, A/B, D, Gan, etc. I don't think there's a good argument for tubes anymore, other than nostalgia or the cool factor. I've owned several tube amps over the years, some sounded great. But....I ...
Back to the DAC +1 on the Ayre recommendation. I also have the QX 5 Twenty. The internal Ethernet streaming card is very good, but a good dedicated streamer, e.g Aurender, innous, takes things up a big notch. That's been my experience with other good DACs, a goo...
What the Best Dac have you heard or owned. How could you tell it was that good. Ayre QX 5 twenty. Followed by Bricasti M3. Both excellent, sound, company, support.
Roon vs OS and Native Players - Impact on SQ? I like roon for all it's curated content, suggestions, artist data, interface, etc. I must say music sounds better using the innous sense app in "standalone" mode in my system. Don't know why this is. I use both, but mainly the sense app for the b...
Streamer only Have owned a bunch (not all) of high end streamers. In my experience Aurender and Innous are top of the heap and the clear leaders in this niche, all things considered. They are different, but both great.
T+A's new R 2500 R integrated amp cundare2: good points, can't disagree. My bias and preference is to support small, committed companies (preferably American) where you can have direct contact with the principals and they know who you are and will be responsive. The future is al...
T+A's new R 2500 R integrated amp Ayre: Small American company run by passionate people, great engineering and build quality, great support (you can get a human on the phone), great sonics and reliability. European and Asian companies you will be dealing with a distributor, most l...
Aurender n200, talk me out of signing on the dotted line Owned two Aurender products, great products, great company. It will be interesting to see how they integrate roon. Make sure you like the conductor app before you commit. The innous sense app is superior and sounds better (IMO). Both great options.
SabrinaX vs JA Perspective2 Graphene I have x4 ultras. Bass is huge: deep, fast, tight and detailed. Speakers must be positioned optimally for this. Mine are 4 feet from back wall and about 3 from the side wall. Mids are good, detailed and clean without edge or brightness. I would say...

SabrinaX vs JA Perspective2 Graphene My room is about 16 x 30, Too much for the Joseph's for what I wanted. Using big spatials, am able to get them well away from walls. Sounds great to me.
SabrinaX vs JA Perspective2 Graphene I owned perspective 2's for a few years. Very good speakers. Moved on because my room is large and I couldn't get the scale and bottom end I wanted (I:m anti subwoofer). Went back to open baffle/dipole which is my preferred sound. If you have a s...
The time has come and I request advice... Aurender for build quality, ease of use, support, reliability. Make sure your'e OK with the conductor app before you jump in, it's your only access point (for now) Innous for sonics, roon capability and sense app. Sense sounds better than roon a...
OCD mickey website and negativity. He's entertaining, has a point of view that he's pretty clear about, has legitimate background/experience in the industry and no apparent agendas beyond what he says. He often proclaims he's just another jackass on you tube with an opinion. I ha... |
