Another UPS Horror Story
Hopefully you used PayPal, and just take your refund. You do NOT have to wait for the seller to get his money problems fixed, that is his problem. If PayPal balks or hesitates, just contact the bank of the credit card you used. I have found that i...
CODA CSIb vs. HEGEL H-300 INTEGRATED
That Magamp from Sanders Sound looks like it was made by Coda. Coda does a lot of design and manufacturer for other companies too. Coda designed and built amps for Innersound and Legacy, and that Magtech certainly has that similar look to it.
Recommend Class a Amp
03-27-15: BombaywallaNobody has mentioned the Plinius SA-250Mk4 class-A/class-AB power amp? I did, earlier in the thread. ;^)
Recommend Class a Amp
Class A can be expensive, especially if you are looking for 200 wpc. In the ~$3K range, you are probably limited to older amps like the Krell KSA-250, Plinius SA-250 mk IV, CODA System 200, Threshold SA/12e or T800. Though these would probably nee...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
Oh, there is dishonesty here, and most folks know where it is coming from Audiolabyrinth. Unfortunately, you have built yourself quite a reputation in the last couple of years since you've joined the forums. Almost everyone is on to you by now.A w...
Strong US$ ... Gryphon ...
03-25-15: GoldmanThat is funny...I thought about buying Gryphon last week because of the strong dollar. Many people are predicting the dollar will go to parity with the Euro, and hopefully back to 0.88 when it hit highs shortly after mini recessio...
Best upgradable system components for under $6K
I'd recommend you try this LSA Statement Integrated amp. Only 150 wpc, and it does have two tubes in it, but basically SS, and would be very tough to beat in this price range. I have no relation with the seller. Of course amplifier/speaker interfa...

Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
Steve, that is the most amazing thing about Tara Labs, their prices are ridiculously high for basically copper cables. No silver, no gold, no palladium, nothing that would hint at their astronomical prices. Siltech, Nordost, and others also have r...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
Yes, but your few thousand is 'invested' in Tara Labs top of the line jumpers. You have more $$$ invested in your jumpers than your speakers. Just a thought, maybe if you live in a glass house, you shouldn't throw rocks at others. The truth can be...
How does one get off the merry-go-round?
03-24-15: DrubinMy neurosis is all about creating a legacy. Since this thread I started almost 15 years ago is still going, I believe it's time to declare victory. Though I'm still not off the MGR. :-)Drubin, I entered this thread the day after yo...
2 runs of wires or 1 run w/ jumpers
03-24-15: Zd542Not true. There is an electrical difference. Also, on a speaker that is very sensitive to biwiring like my Vandersteen's, I can tell 100% of the time in a blind test. The difference is so big, its like swapping a component. I'm curi...
Gabriel Gold IC's are they really this good?
03-24-15: Audiolabyrinthsteve, that is strange that you would attemt to compaire cables like gabriel Gold that cost a few hundred dollars to cables that are north of 30 thousand dollars, mmmmm, really!LOL! This from a guy who has no problem compar...
Dynavector XX-2 MK2 vs Shelter 901 MK2
I agree with both Brf and Mechans. The Dynavector XX-2 mk II is an excellent rock cartridge, very dynamic and powerful, yet no too bright. However, I would not say it is warm either. I haven't heard the Shelter.A cartridge in that price range whic...
2 runs of wires or 1 run w/ jumpers
Very common question with no consensus answer. I would say that if you know what cable you are going to use, and you can afford it, run two separate runs. If 2 runs of a cable is out of your budget, then single wire and jumpers will do fine. I'm s...
