Vienna Acoustics and cable
I have the Beethovens and I'm using Tara Labs Decade IC's (XLR) and Master Gen II speaker cable. I'm very happy with their performance. A good balnce between detail and musicality. You might also try Cardas cables, I liked them but they were a lit...
Are your used items selling?
Tobias, it didn't make sense to me either. I never look at items marked sale pending unless I'm very interested. Then I just tell the seller to let me know if the buyer backs out. This was very strange, I actually had more offers after the sale pe...
Are your used items selling?
I haven't been having any problems. Plenty of offers. You might try placing a 'Sale Pending' tag on your ad. I only have one open item currently, and I was receiving about 1 e-mail a day for the first 4-5 days. Once I reached a verbal agreement an...
Getting married, and I need to redo system.. ?'s..
Tsrart, I not saying all women are evil, I'm saying they are different. Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus. We will never understand each other, even if we trick ourselves into thinking we do. I asked the questions, because in my life experie...
Getting married, and I need to redo system.. ?'s..
Tsrart, I'm glad you are happily married. I've heard that there are folks out there that are. Just out of curiousity, how long have you been married? Do you and your wife have children? I ask because these generally are major factors in how happil...
What's a good amp to pair with SF Grd Piano Home
Of the brands you mentioned, I'd prefer the Classe. I think I saw a Classe 25 selling at a reasonable price. I had a Classe CA-200 and enjoyed it 'til I heard my friend's Threshold T-400. Then I bought it off him. I still have Classe CD player and...
Floating the Ground
Do you have a cable tv line? If so there is a chance this is creating the ground loop hum. You could try floating the ground, from my experiences, this helped, but didn't eliminate the hum altogether. You could try one of those cable ground isolat...

Getting married, and I need to redo system.. ?'s..
Gthush1, when you've been married as long as I have (19 years) you'll know better than to tell her the cost of such products. I have a seperate credit card, and seperate my money. She might complain if she sees too many transactions, but she never...
Getting married, and I need to redo system.. ?'s..
One thing you should know. Your explanation of how as part of the package she has to know she's marrying an audiophile, blah, blah, blah, is very logical and makes great sense to me. However, women are different from men. In general, women are mor...
Going SACD or analog?
Analogue. Hands down. As for the 'noise issue', buy a VPI 16.5, problem solved. The amount of software available in LP's versus SACD's really doesn't even make this a question. Ad in the superior sound quality, analogue wins, case closed.
How much for two 20A lines?
Slipknot1, I live on the Philly side of the Delaware. I just talked to an electrician today (who I happen to work with). He's going to schedule some time to come over my house and run 2 dedicated lines. I bought 2 PS Audio Power Ports, he can get ...
Amp upgrade recommendations
Fiscally speaking you'd be best to sell the DNA 0.5's and buy another used amps. I agree with most of the reco's here, I haven't heard the Musical Fidelity. I also agree with hifiguy, I have a Threshold T400 which I like better than the McCormack ...
