Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Grand I just sold my Strauss's and got Proac D25.. So far with only about 20 hours on them and even with new speaker cables the Proac's crush the Vienna's.. LOL. I still get a good chuckle out of replys like this. My new Brand X crushes my old Brand Y. ...
Pass XA 160 review:life span is 6 years? IMHO, once you go Class A there is no going back. That's probably why I prefer the sound of the older Krell/Threshold/Levinson/Pass amps. I thought the Aleph models sounded better than the X-series. I'll have to give the XA's a listen.
I'm Very SCARED - Please advise, Cartridge Drop You'll be fine. Relax. Get all that butter fingered practice in now, before you upgrade to the Ruby 3.Cheers,John
Pass XA 160 review:life span is 6 years? Guidocorona, I stand corrected. The XA series does run a higher Class A bias though, correct? When will Pass come out with black faceplates? I'm a fan of Nelson Pass' design work, but I'm no fan of the Pass aesthetics. They could lose those meters...
Pass XA 160 review:life span is 6 years? There are many X-series for sale because the XA series is out. Caps are usually the only long term maintenance issues for these big solid state amps. The higher biased the amp runs into Class A, the better it sounds (IMHO). However, the higher bia...
I'm Very SCARED - Please advise, Cartridge Drop Nice moniker you got going there:httpforum.audiogon.comcgi-binfr_memb.pleanlg1103228214membzzbobbybub@hotmail.comI'll just call you:htpfrm.agon.com-bin_memplg1214mbzbyb@hmail.com For short.
Old Digital vs New digital. It has to do with the analog section of the D/A, IMHO. Using Ljshape10's example of the Classe DAC-1, this was a $4K DAC, which can be had used for less than $1K. I don't think there is a new DAC that lists for under $1K that can touch the DAC-1 s...
Tara Lab Decade XLR versus AQ Diamond X3 XLR They are radically different designs. The AQ Diamond has silver conductors, the Decade has copper conductors. They are both very good cables in their class. That meaning the AQ Diamond, being silver, is quicker, cleaner and more transparent, while...
"Analog" = bloated, rolled off, soft and mushy? Yes, you are wrong. Just kidding. It's all a matter of tastes. I prefer vinyl myself, but I also have a BAT VK-D5SE, which is not the most dynamic cd player. However, I find that I'm able to listen for hours without grinding my teeth, which is a g...
Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Grand Which Dynaudio? One friend of mine has the Audience 82's another friend has a pair of Contour 3.4's. Very nice speakers.John
Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Grand Flemke, that's just as well, since Tweeter did such a dis-service to VA with such poor demo conditions.
Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Grand Available in Europe only, like the 'Signatures' versions I guess? I wish Sumiko would import the whole line.
Vienna Acoustics Beethoven Grand What is the MSRP? Funny, there is nothing in the Sumiko or Vienna Acoustics website about them. What dealer? Most VA dealers that I've met use receivers for demos (Tweeter). It must be nice to have a legitimate high end dealer carrying the VA line.
BAT Solid State Amps? What does that tell you? I have a BAT tube cd player, phono preamp and preamp, and I like a solid state amplifier. I don't own a BAT amp though. I feel their tube products represent a very good value for the dollar, while their solid state product...
Vienna Beethoven Owners--I need your advice I've owned Beethovens and currently own the Strauss. Vienna Acoustic speakers are very hard to audition because of poor demo conditions, in my experiences. When I first auditioned a pair of Beethovens, I was unimpressed. The speakers sounded bloat... |
