Anybody heard a LECTOR CDP-7t ? I've heard there's a long wait for them and that no one is discounting them. That's what one rave from a prominent reviewer will do. I'm sure it's a very good machine, but probably not quite as good as Harry Pearson makes it out to be. Remember th...
Is there a SS amp that can offer tube bliss? Aria WT-100 Hybrid does a great job of reproducing tube tonality. In terms of full bodied, 3D midrange, I still feel a all tube design is best. Either way you go you must accept compromise however.
Audioquest PT arm v. VPI JMW series Many judgments of the VPI tonearms are based on the 10. VPI probably sold many based on Harry Pearson's first RAVE review of it in TAS. I was never satisfied with the 10 however, in fact I had VPI modify it for me very early on with definite impro...
What detergent to clean Zerodust. Elizabeth is absoluetely correct. All I do is rinse in a bowl with a bit of distilled water. That's it. It comes out squeeky clean. You may have to flex it a bit while in the water to dislodge some of the debris.
Electrocompaniet EMC II CD Player Subaruguru, all those decent parts must be very discrete indeed. I must admit to not being a techie type, but to these eyes, there just ain't much there any way you slice it. I've also heard similar opinions from those much more technically orient...
Electrocompaniet EMC II CD Player I tried the XLR to RCA adapter thing and perceived no difference between it and straight RCA to RCA. My pre is a Supratek Syrah. It is possible that there was a slight audible difference that I did not appreciate as I was not overly patient in ass...
Electrocompaniet EMC II CD Player Hey Subaruguru, why so worried about spending a few hundred bucks on the Spider when you've purchased a cdp that's worth maybe half of what it retails for? Maybe. Sonics aside, there just ain't much inside the EMC-1UP. Don't get me wrong, I love m...
Electrocompaniet EMC II CD Player Tvad: I wanted to ask you about the Steve Nugent mods. Do they change the basic character of the EMC-1? One thing I really like about the EMC is that it is far less analytical sounding than many other players. I'd hate to end up with a player that...
Hours sitting around just listening to music? I get in around 2 hours a day on average. Some days I get 3-4 hours in. Being retired with a wife that isn't, gives me the freedom to listen often and long. Still, I am afflicted with computeritis to some degree. If I could stay away from the inte...
Electrocompaniet EMC II CD Player Well Tvad, that's very interesting. You are the first I've heard of that was not impressed with the improvement wrought by the Spider. Not that I've heard from that many, but the few that have commented have been quite enthusiastic. I wonder if yo...
EMC-1 Owners Spider Alert What the heck. Might as well jump on the Spider web. Any idea what price range we're talking here?

Any updates on the EMC spider clamp Electrocompaniet can't seem to get it together where the Spider is concerned. What I keep hearing is "2 to 3 weeks". I've been hearing that for 5 months now. Frankly, I've given up on the Spider and intend to go for the Empirical Audio mods as soo...
Omega Mikro powercord users help: Personally, I think too much is made of the hassle OM cables produce. Yes, they do indeed require extra care in dressing and maintaining, but once in place, all you need do is listen. My system is wired with OM Ebony ICs and Planar 4 LCX speaker c...
Omega Mikro powercord users help: Well in my case, with an OM plugged into my cdp, the difference was obvious. The red was definitely superior. On my preamp the difference was not as great, but still audible. Again the red won the day. I agree with Rushton that if the blue focuses... |
