DIY turntable plinth material I made a slate plinth , used a Lenco motor and idler system, stacked the VPI Superplatter over the Lenco platter and the result is one of the most slamming turntables I heard, very close to my EMT 927 in terms of dynamics .http://www.lencoheaven.n...
which plinth/tonearm for TD-124 SME or other I made a 7 cm thick slate plinth for my TD124 and direct coupled the chassis with the original bolts underneath the plinth. Also made a slate tonearmboard. The result is awesome.http://www.theanalogdept.com/jean_veys.htmGood luck with your project...
anyone use a Symposium platform under a turntable? I use the Ultra Platform under all my turntables. It is important to notice that you need to direct couple the plinth with the platform witch is acting as a subplinth. Never use rubber or sorbotane feet. Rollerblocks work well with VPI.http://www....

Best TT plinth material, cost no object Always nice to hear that some mini meets are organizing. It is a very positive way to compare and learn from each others, especially in turntable plinths department. Don't forget to report your meet impressions !Jean.
Best TT plinth material, cost no object When I move my turntables from wood, metal or acrylic plinths to a slate plinth they all sound much better. Invariably. I still have not found a better plinth material yet.Jean.

What Arm choices for the Garrard 301 Back in the days when the 301 was in production , the SME 3012 seemed to be the arm chosen by audiophiles. With the actual resurgence of interest towards the 301 we must consider the huge evolution of tonearms and cartridges, and the new tonearms l...
Mcintosh MA2275 what's better I have both MC 275 and ARC VT 100. With all tubes changed with Telefunken and E.A.T. ( KT 88 ) the Mac sound us more refined and dynamic. Plus the vol. attenuators allows to direct connect ( S.E.) the phonopreamp to the amp, it makes it a wonderfu... |
