Speaker Break-in
My Vandersteen 3's improved significantly after 150 hours of break-in, didn't listen in between...have bought very few new speakers, so no other recent experiences...
Bi-Wiring
Sonic benefits of true bi-wiring is endless debate here, often nasty...the extra binding posts are to ensure a good tight connection, should you choose to bi-wire with a double cable run...
"High end" store snobbery
PS Audio only sells manufacturer direct in USA...incredible trade in policy...they often work in conjunction with TMR I believe...the trade in can cover up to about 30% of price of new PS Audio gear you are buying...
Is Magnepan still in business ?
I spoke to them about the still not available LRS+ stands last month, have never had a problem getting hold of someone there...
"High end" store snobbery
rude is never good...but how many hours have members here spent auditioning gear in stores, knowing they would buy it used on Audiogon...very different then when stores only had to compete with other stores...
How much does a DAC do the more expensive it is?
a DAC will depreciate much faster and steeper than an amp or preamp...lots of high quality amps and preamps will hold used price value after a few years of depreciation, not very often with a DAC...
Integrated amp recommendation
Also might consider Schiit Vidar amp and one of the Schiit Saga or Freya preamps
Integrated amp recommendation
Belles Aria are under $1500 used....if you want to keep costs down, Musical Fidelity M2si...I have owned both...
Did the Old Receivers Sound Good?
Not able to do a refurbishing but it looks so good I’ll still keep it… thanks though
Did the Old Receivers Sound Good?
my wonderful refurbished HK430 just started a very loud hum...guess it's done
My experience with the First Watt F7
On the First Watt home page,  Nelson Pass seems quite clear that First Watt in general, and each model specifically, are designed for unique situations, needs, preferences, and not meant as a general amp lineup for everyone...at Mark's suggestion,...
The LRS+ Speakers
I find the LRS+ and Magnepan in general, are easier than expected to set up sounding good, but that to do "everything" set up becomes much more exacting...
The LRS+ Speakers
When I spoke to Magnepan, they said the LRS+ would be the best sounding speaker in my small room...it sounds great, sometimes use with REL T/Zero lll sub
