Each First Watt amp has a somewhat idiosyncratic sound, and all are low power - they are great amps but your choice of speakers for each model is limited...many/most amps are designed to work with a wide variety of speakers, First Watt's are not...

I think the First Watt website will answer many of your questions. You can call Pass Labs for all issues and service, they answer the phone and are very helpful. Reno was essentially a sort of in-house dealer, not sure if there is a replacement am...

check out Mapleshade, maple boards and brass cones...I pretty much used them under everything, and sometimes on top too...

When I had a BPT conditioner, it sounded best with their top of the line power cord...though in general I find power cords somewhat less predictable than other cords/cables...

yes, but Eric is essentially proposing a million dollar system, so I'm assuming there will be professionals to take care of the room and all "fussy issues", making the judgement call irrelevant...  
Pass labs x250.8 burn in
leave it on for a few weeks, but for a few days in the middle, shut it off at night...this will get you 90% there...play a lot of music...this was the advice I received from Pass...for me the XP Pass preamps are excellent, much better than the ori...

if I'm buying a $400,00 speaker those issues become irrelevant, as I could spend and do whatever made then sound their best...in my real world, I usually avoid fussy...
