Need feedback from Bryston amp owners
I have a 9B-SST. I would make sure that the amp you get has enough power for your speakers and that it at least doubles into 4 Ohms if it does not have a lot of power at 8 Ohms. The 9B-SST is an excellent sounding amp, but I did have problems feed...
Comparison of $11,000 - $15,000 reference speakers
Holy cow, that post was old... I wouldn't have posted if I noticed the date on it.
Comparison of $11,000 - $15,000 reference speakers
The 802Ds are much better sounding than the N800s and they have a MSRP of $12k USD. I would get those over the N800s if you decide to go with B&Ws, in fact, that is exactly what I did.
Recommend Speakers For Yamamoto
Horn speakers would usually work well. Here are a few companies that make them: Avantgarde, Zu, JBL, Tannoy, Acapellas.
What happens when the Wife cleans the audio room
I lock my listening room... No wife and kids allowed in the room without me there. My wife knows better than to touch my gear anyway. LOL

PMC speakers vs B&W... has anyone compared?
Holy cow, old thread, my bad... Well only goes to show you how wrong the bashers were... ;P
PMC speakers vs B&W... has anyone compared?
Just to shine some light on the obvious ignorance being perpetrated in this thread, or to simply point out the purposeful bashing of B&W. Here are a few links concerning Abbey Road Studios and their new purchases...one linkanother linkYou can ...
The best CD Player for the money
I've changed my mind in the last few months and think that the Ayre C-5xe is the best deal around for the money. It blows the Meridian G08 away for CD source (it has HDCD decoding which the Meridian does not have), and as a bonus it plays stereo D...
Is my setup mid-fi or hi-fi?
I'd look at the Ayre C-5xe. That is what I bought and IMO for the price it is better sounding than equipment twice its price that play only one or two formats. It is a universal stereo player (DVD-A, SACD, CD & HDCD, DVD-V, etc). It has gained...
Owning too many speakers
I own a pair of B&W 802Ds and will purcfhase a pair of Wilson Watt Pupp 7s. I currently have the 802Ds for sale in the classified articles, but I have been considering keeping them since earlier today. I enjoy the sound of both speakers immens...

Is harmonic accuracy and timbre important at all?
How come no one has anything to say about almost all recording studios using "incorrect" speakers to mix albums? I would think this would make most recordings inherently incorrect, making correct speakers moot, wouldn't it?Isn't this also a proble...
Is harmonic accuracy and timbre important at all?
If professional sound/recording studios use incorrect speakers to mix the albums they produce (which must be the case since they aren't using the speakers you listed, at least none of the really famous studios I know of), then what does it matter ...
