sophia 2s I love my W/P 8 speakers matched with Ayre amps... (I have all Ayre gear from top to bottom on my two channel setup). I also love the Sophia2 speakers as well, but I am using them for surround sound speakers with the W/P8 speakers in the front and...
Anyone out there with a Vandersteen Quatro Speaker Here is another long dead, yet recently revived, Vandersteen thread....
Vandersteen Quatro Is it just me, or are the people opening these long dead threads looking to push Vandersteen speakers? The people pulling the threads out of retirement are either posting about Vandersteen speakers, reviving threads about Vandersteen speakers, or ...
Best Speakers to Audition in the $5-10k range? Good grief I didn't even notice. Oz, nice catch! Hey, Mrjstark were you bored or something?Perhaps he is a time traveler!
Best Speakers to Audition in the $5-10k range? Dynaudio Confidence C1. It had mind boggling sound quality for the price at HE2007.... Use the leftover money to add a good parametric EQ subwoofer to the setup and you will have one amazing setup for the price. That's what I would do at least, fo...
Sophia 2 vs. Vandersteen Quatro Vandersteens are time and phase correct and Wilson are not. Do you care to hear harmonic content that captures timbre accurately that is essential to the enjoyment of music? Also, Wilson uses a midrange driver that makes no sense to me; 7 inch?No ...
Sophia 2 vs. Vandersteen Quatro How will you live with yourself if you pass up the name dropping snob appeal of the Wilson and settle for the pedestrian Vandy? I can hear them now; "I don't know about Wilson, but my ex college boyfriend had some Vandies". That has to be the sill...
Dedicated Home Theater/Listening Room Suggestions Also, know that a company like Rives comes from a 2 channel background, emphesises 2 channel, and constructs theaters around that. IMO, not how a multi-channel system should be constructed, and especially NOT FOR MULTIPLE SEATING SITUATIONS!!! Tak...
Dedicated Home Theater/Listening Room Suggestions A few tips:1) Hire an expert in acoustical engineering. I used Rives (of Rives Audio) for my dedicated two channel optimized Home Theater and I recommend him heartily.2) A great book is "The Master Handbook of Acoustics" by F. Alton Everest. It co...
B&W Nautilus 802D, Wilson Sophia 2, or others? Panny,Check out the Bel Canto reference 1000s. I heard them with the Jospeh Audio rm33si at HE2007. They sounded really really nice considering the very low price. I'm considering those for my rear speakers in my surround setup (Wilson W/P8s in th...
B&W Nautilus 802D, Wilson Sophia 2, or others? Panny,If you are referring to a lack of audibility of some vocals (male vocals) in the mid-range to mid-bass, then yes. That is why I ultimately sold mine (among other less bothersome reasons as well)....
B&W Nautilus 802D, Wilson Sophia 2, or others? I sold my 802Ds and finally got my Wilson W/P8s a few weeks ago. All I can say is... WOW! All the problems I had with the 802D are gone. No more recessed male vocals veiled behind the tubby, cavernous sound of other elements in the soundstage. It ...

most accurate loudspeakers.... It depends on what you mean by "accurate."
Best "New" Acoustical Treatment Science Advance Gold covered dung is too reflective to be used on its own. It might be useful when you overtreat a room, and need to tie a few to a horse's mane and tail, etc. Those would make decent two-in-one diffuser/absorber treatments. |
