Cant find much info on Art Audio Vinyl Reference Phono I would have expected the Vinyl reference to be better sonically than the One. Is that true?
Cant find much info on Art Audio Vinyl Reference Phono OK so the vinyl one is better? It's not built very well. The reference looks better built and uses premium parts like Lundhal and Mundorf.
Cant find much info on Art Audio Vinyl Reference Phono Its pretty good. I could be a little more transparent. There are some caps I could upgrade.
Upgrade McCormack or... a bit more but if you can stretch a bit a used Wells Audio Inamorata
Phonostage Advice revisiting my topic, I think I will rule out a Tube MC preamp strictly on noise basis. I am thinking solid state will be quieter and more consistent
GoldNote 10 or PS Audio Stellar not ruling it out, just that I have not heard it, I should compare it. One thing that is possible is i have some PS Audio gear I may be able to turn in for credit towards the purchase of the Stellar. Considering all options. I could ask Dan if he ...
GoldNote 10 or PS Audio Stellar @rsf507, do you get much use out of the multiple "curve" selections?also do you use the upgraded PS?
Phonostage Advice negative, the BHK is a pre only no phono
Phonostage Advice Oh yes the stellar was very good. I would not say it was an "OMG" moment but certainly better. I am told there is a BHK pre as well.....
Phonostage Advice OK so I demoed the PS Audio Stellar, the JC3+ against my LS100. Both were better. In terms pf preference I liked the Stellar the best. Brought out emotion in the music and incredible bass control. The LS100 was flatter and bass was not as defined.
Linear Tube Audio Ive never heard a LTA product sound good, not sure why.
Maggies and Wells Audio together @PS I agree that vivid and robust are accurate descriptors. I find the amp has balls, is NOT laid back.
Phonostage Advice @millercarbon my cartridge is definitely not mistracking. i am familiar with that very specific sound. This kind of a flattening of the volume during peaks with "no distortion" lol.
Phonostage Advice I agree millercarbon. It wasn't until this discussion that I realized that it may be by electronics. Realtime records are very dynamic. It's a male opera and the guys voice booms!!
Phonostage Advice wow looks to be unanimous. I do have a buddy locally with a JC3 and an EAR to compare to mine. Thank you so much for your recommendations.Interesting I have a M&K Realtime LP and when I play it, it appears to be clipping. I thought the singer ... |
