Classical Music for Aficionados
@jcazador     Hi Jeremy I had enough of the Rolling Stones the first time they hit the charts, an awful racket . I get you about Hewitt she has a very large following and I do listen to her sometimes. The Goldbergs are great enough for many many i...

RV   you stated the beauty of the music influenced your reaction and I can totally agree with you there. Lang Lang did really project that in his playing but he made a lot of the movements sound like Chopin Preludes which a lot of people may be ha...

RV   I'm very sorry and I am upset that I have to disagree with you but I did not like Lang Lang's Goldbergs at all. I found that the opening aria was so slow it was like a dirge. That said though I have to agree that some of the variations were v...

sorry meant to put Carnival in but it consists of Arrau playing kinderzenen and carnival .
Modified Mac Mini or CD Transport
I am of the opinion that if you go for the Aurender N100H you would be light years away from a Mac Mini even with an LPS.To get a computer to get anything like an Aurender you would have to have a different animal altogether and pay really big buc...

@rvpiano     I'm so sorry I did not wish you luck earlier but I do hope you feel better soon. It's at times like this that we need our music. RV my very best to you and I hope you start getting some relief soon.

@rvpiano         Totally agree with you RV , when I was listening to The Chopin concertos the only thing on my mind was how I would love to hear Pletnev himself doing those arrangements. I have heard Pletnev live a number of times and two things h...

@twoleftears     I certainly agree with you but I would also say that Arrau's piano tone was second to none and you always left a concert saying to yourself that whatever he played in the concert couldn't be replicated by anyone. It is just a pity...
Sam here.l realize now why so many people think my ideas are crazy?
I have just realised that I shall never regain the five minutes it took me to read your puerile tripe.  Have a good life ,clown !!

@schubert  Len I'm glad you like our Icelander, I think he is super but I hope he doesn't give us any more Glass ( absolute tripe from me ).

@rvpiano    RV I thought you would like the Babayan recording especially the Volodos transcription and I thought his piano tone was luscious with such a warm glow over everything. It takes a great pianist to turn a fundamentally staccato instrumen...

I’m just listening to a wonderful recital from the yellow label and the moment. Rachmaninov from Sergei Babayn and let me tell you it dosen’t get any better than this, with one dreamy piece after another and played to perfection. Definitely a must...

@schubert     Yes Len the Jocks and the Micks were always the first into battle while the Sassenach generals sat in the french chateau's drinking the cellar dry.

@schubert      Gosh Len haven't watched uni challenge in years, I'm glad Strathclyde won though (I always gloat when the Sassenachs get cuffed) That quote was a new one on me.@jcazador    I have a recording of Ogden doing the Fantasia Contraputist...
