What is your favorite Mozart symphony?
Yes thank you Tubegroover. Mozart Sinfonia concertante in E flat Major, K 364 - manna from heaven. Mozart truly loves the interplay between the solo voices and the full group. I can feel his heart in a piece like this. It gives me the same feeling...

As speaker cable the WE 16g wire took about 7 full days to burn in and as interconnects WE 16g wire took 250-300 hrs to fully burn in. Jet
What is your favorite Mozart symphony?
:) Will do Schubert...good advice. Last night I was listening to Sym No40 Cleveland/Szell and was reminded what great music this is. Love Bohm/Vienna Phil doing Mozart! Something very elegant and relaxed about their performances
What is your favorite Mozart symphony?
As with Rja, I've never totally warmed to his symphonies. It may be because I believe Mozart loved the solo voice (the melody) and understood the push pull/give take of that voice better than he did the symphonic voice. In many of his fist movemen...
What is your favorite Mozart symphony?
35, 36, 39, 40, 41.Although I prefer his operas, concerti and particularly love his string quintets. I have these on vinyl by The GRUMIAUX TRIO plus two players on a nice sounding Philips release. His clarinet concerto--yes!
Why does most new music suck?
I am hearing and buying new rock music all of the time and am so happy to find new good bands. YouTube is a good source for new bands. There is also some great new R&B stuff being done as well. New Classical and Jazz too. I would shoot myself ...
Leonard Bernstain Rhapsody In Blue...
Try to give pianist Earl Wild conducted by Arthur Fiedler playing Rhapsody In Blue a listen. Very exciting. Very few pianists could take those tempos.

Thank you Rob. I read the blog and it looks like someone tried two runs of WE16ga for the hot and neutral runs and then wrapped that with some 14ga ground wire. A single run might sound great, but since the wire has to carry a lot of current Grann...
Elrog 300B vs Takatsuki 300B tubes
Al - yes I installed a 100ohm resistor on one leg of the primary side of the filament transformer. And I did not change that value when changing from Eml to Sophia. My vintage Stancor filament transformers are rated for 117v. These trannies have a...
Elrog 300B vs Takatsuki 300B tubes
Al- when I got home this evening I measured my Brooklyn line voltage with my fluke meter and got 124v which is more or less normal. My EML300b XLS filaments measured 4.97v and my Sophia mesh measured 5.06v. That's about a 2% increase. I am using 5...
Elrog 300B vs Takatsuki 300B tubes
I have measured this in my amp. Since my EML 300b XLS filaments draw 1.5 amps I have to adjust the dropping resistors so I still get 5 volts because voltage gets pulled below 5 volts. Other 300b tubes that draw 1.2 amps makes the voltage rise abov...
Tube Amp Maintenance Tip...
I clean resistor leads, capacitor leads, internal hook up wire, tube sockets etc, with 99% alcohol. About once every two months.
Looking for really fine cables at really low price
An update on Western Electric 22Ga solid core interconnects. After 300-400hrs I ended up not liking them. They sound monochromatic. They lack texture and color. I built them with Switchcraft RCA plugs and two runs each for the positive and negativ...
