Sugden/Allnic or Luxman L-509X?
Hi, I have the Luxman L509X and it is a wonderful amp. That said, the Allnic dedicated phono amp will certainly be superior to the built in one on the Luxman.Regarding why the digital sounds better is because it IS better. We aren't using 1980s co...
Recommendations for speakers with Luxman 509x
Congratulations on a wonderful integrated. I also have the 509X and love it so much. Many great suggestions, fwiw I have Klipsch Cornwall IV's and they pair beautifully with the 509X. They do excellent close to a wall. I was in a larger space last...
Music is sound, sound can be music
Man, I feel like a broken record (pun not intended but...) going on about this but I'm loving the discussion! I wish I was not so busy and could participate beyond cheerleading, lol. At least I can read along in between working.
Music is sound, sound can be music
I'm very happy about the discussion my thread has sparked. Even the difference of opinions is great. The level of discourse and ideas presented about what music is, or could be is fantasticGive yourselves applause for showing that this community o...
Music is sound, sound can be music
Thanks everyone for all the replies. There's a lot of good thought and dialogue here.@frogman  I think it is you that missed the point. I assert this by you closing statement: "So, let’s see, those who clamor for open mindedness and respect for al...
Klipsch Cornwall IV
@ozzy62 second the good description you gave.As I see it (or hear as it may be), there is so much great gear out there. All these manufacturers have smart people designing amazing stuff. The difference is in the flavor not the label. That said, so...
What Is The Best Song That Most People Have Not Heard?
@dweller  hey, thanks for the share on Knower. Will check them out.
Klipsch Cornwall IV
Not much to add except if you love horns and want a big sound under $10k, these speakers are it. Yes, I own them. :-)If they are too big, the Heresy IV  with sub or two are amazing.

Buffalo Wack Child by Rise Robots RiseThis was a band before their time. They should have ruled the world but the world was too deaf to new music back then. Saw them live in NYC and they blew the freaking roof off the place. RIP RRR.
A Hidden "Feature" of the Cornwall IV
@buddy,I was considering a Yamaha AS3000, as I like Japanese SS amps, but heard a refresh was coming. I waited but nothing happened and gave up, went shopping, and discovered the Luxman. I bet your 2200 will rock with Cornwalls.
A Hidden "Feature" of the Cornwall IV
@jbhiller, I demoed 6 solid state and 2 tube amps in the general price range of the Luxman, about $8-12k and decided it was "the one". I am a year in now and could not be happier (unless it was with much more expensive gear of course!). I think it...
A Hidden "Feature" of the Cornwall IV
I rocked KG4.2 speakers for 12 years, built and bought in 1992. Everyone who heard them loved it. Paired with a Mirage 15 sub and an 80s era Marantz it sounded beautiful.I have Cornwall IV's and a Luxman L509X now, and it's absolutely transcendent...
looking for a Integrated amp $6,000 range
"Luxman/Accuphase, are they full of Chinese parts ?"There may be some Chinese parts but even so, you can get cheap anything from anywhere, US, China, even Denmark. Most Western people would be shocked ( often out of their ignorance) at the very adv...
looking for a Integrated amp $6,000 range
Yet another chip in for Luxman, especially if you are considering Accuphase (the Japanese integrateds are the shizzle).
Tube amp Friendly Speaker That Sounds like Klipsch Cornwall
There are so many excellent speakers it's hard to say what's best. Then you have rooms, amplifiers, dacs, sources... It's tough to be an audiophile, lol. Everything will be a different flavor, with some areas excelling over others and some not as ...
