Is $2,844 too much to pay for a fuse?
So, it's official.  We've found an outer limit where even MC agrees, this is Bull$$$$

I still like mogami for RCA though they are on the expensive side I think they're constructed very well and sweetwater is great to do business with. We're on the same page regarding Sweetwater.  Just bought a 7-string multiscale axe from them a...
Bring my own preamp to an amp demo?
Bottom line, the fewer variables in your audition, the better.  If you can't audition it in your own home with your own preamp, speakers, and other peripherals in your own room, you're not going to be able to draw a reliable conclusion about how i...

Any recommendation for make and model, and price of package? Sure thing.  IK Multimedia does a solid room analysis package with a mic included.  Little slow on shipping right now, thanks to COVID, but...  https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail...

Use mogami balanced. While I'd love to go XLR for that application, it's simply not an option, because the pre only has unbalanced out, and the amp only has unbalanced in.  So it is what it is.  Unless Mogami has some fancy way to get the cance...

I appreciate your input and I’ve learned that treating a room is critical to good sound. I do have panels from vicoustics and gik on the walls. Have a look and tell me what you think. My room question was referring to the fact it’s not a great r...

We end up where we started R, L, C. And now comes the money question. Presuming that I shelve the amps a few inches above the speakers (already bought shelf kits to do this), now I still have my 12-inch speaker cable run, BUT, I still have 2.5 met...

Oxygen free copper is nice to reduce corrosion, but never mind OFC or OCCC failing in blind tests, or silver Silver is a mind-blower for me.  Because silver creates its own set of problems in terms of signal conductivity.  Sometimes I wonder if t...

So how come whatever wire you use can make a big difference to SQ. Because, as I've said elsewhere, there's no such thing as "perfect" wire.  Just trade-offs. More inductance in exchange for lower resistance and capacitance.  Less inductance in...

There is no such thing as diminishing returns. You have two paths, as an unlimited spender (all evidence I've seen from your posts point to this being your reality).  Either you accept the idea of diminishing returns, where the difference betwe...

Name a "bad" wire! Monster, from what I've seen.

Literally, @williewonka , there's a calculator for skin effect depth out there.  https://chemandy.com/calculators/skin-effect-calculator.htmSkin effect at 20Khz on standard copper wire is 461 micrometers.  Which means a standard copper wire with a...

Realistically if you can’t tell the difference and you lose The test you’re an idiot for spending the money on something that doesn’t make any difference. Correct? Are these test that you’re talking about this simple? Almost.  @russ69 is right,...
