Best Holographic Speakers ~$7k per pair
@julesg13th -  460 sqft, that is a BIG room, guessing around 20'x23', and with those high ceilings...   Without actually seeing the room with all it's furnishings, etc., I think the size is going to limit you somewhat on speaker choices.  Somethin...

@twangy57  Both MusicDirect.com and AudioAdvisor.com have good selections of cleaning solutions, brushes, stylus cleaners, etc. And MusicDirect.com has the Zerostat for $99 on sale now.   - Jeff
Best Holographic Speakers ~$7k per pair
@julesg13th  A few things that would help for recommendations.   What equipment are you running? How big is your room? What types of music do you like? Are you willing to buy used? Also, are you open to planar speakers like Magnepans or e...
Saving old vintage gear is a lot harder than people make it out to be.
Excellent.  Glad you are happy with them.   Enjoy!
Chronos tweak at Axpona
@jayctoy  Jeff when Chronos are used they produce just about the right holographic sound on the recording, more air, more quiet , less noise floor, more focus on vocal and instrument. It just makes the music sound effortlessl. Understand, I'm ...
Chronos tweak at Axpona
Has anyone figured out yet what the Chronos actually does?
Upgrade ....streamer or amp?
Putting all the political and economic discussion aside... and getting back to @troutbum 's original question.... The general concensus so far seems to be either a new streamer, new DAC or possibly a combination of both.  And there a benefits, an...
Using external DAC with preamp with built-in DAC
Without knowing what make/models you have been looking at, I would caution you to not confuse an external DAC and/or streamer that also can operate as a preamp (i.e. has a volume control) with a true preamp.  Typically their focus is on the digita...
Upgrade ....streamer or amp?
Are you using a separate DAC with the Bluesound?  If not, and guessing at your $ budget, I would upgrade the streamer to one of the newer Bluesounds or maybe one of the Cambridge Audio's.
Picking speakers 3000-5000 budget
@twangy57  As @soix pointed out, your suggestions and examples are all over the map.  And even you admit that your experiences with the current crop of audio equipment is minimal.  You are going to get a lot of good suggestions from the group, bu...
Saving old vintage gear is a lot harder than people make it out to be.
@jmncbh  The key is to take your time and be methodical about the process.  Don't make to many changes at once, don't get radical with anything (yet) and don't make any assumptions...test everything.  (Not getting any sound out of a speaker... ma...
Saving old vintage gear is a lot harder than people make it out to be.
@jmncbh  I wouldn't say that you need to get proper measurements to find a replacement.  I would think the point of replacing the parts is to try and fix the speakers, making them sound as close to orginal as possible?  And I wouldn't say your a...
Saving old vintage gear is a lot harder than people make it out to be.
@jmncbh  It is possible that something else is off in the crossovers or with the drivers themselves and replacing the caps is bringing the problem back into the spotlight.  Or possibly you got used to the way they were sounding and now the "repai...
Chronos tweak at Axpona
@jayctoy   I'm not doubting you either, it is just the lack of information, explanation and science from the manufacturer is what is throwing up the red flags and doubts. Oh, BTW, I did search youtube for Nirvana Audio Chronos and found 4 videos...
Controlling your streaming from your laptop
Yes, the Android tablet would work the same way.  So would an iPad or iPhone.
