Kef uni-q owners help, to toe-in or not to toe-in?
I agree with the statements above. I keep my KEF Q-90s forward firing rather than toed in. When I had them toed in I was hit with a bit of harshness and even when I changed my ICs to better quality ICs the harshness was still there but only a hair...

What good tube preamp match for hafler 220 amp?
When I had a Hafler DH-220 it was paired with a stock McCormack TLC-1. It was a very sweet sounding combination that I liked very much. I don't know if budget is a factor but the cost of a used TLC-1 is probably more than double the cost of a used...

8 gauge vs 10 gauge OF speaker cable
I thought for relatively short speaker wire runs (less than 12ft) you could use 14AWG or even 16AWG and have no issues with sound. For really long runs 50ft or more that was when you would get to 10AWG or 8AWG. I have to check around now out of cu...

SMc Audio VRE preamp anyone?
I too would love a VRE-1 especially after reading reviews & seeing pics of it on the net. Now unless I hit the lotto or get a huge inheritance I won't be getting a VRE-1 anytime soon. Pedrillo as an alternative you can buy a vintage McCormack ...
Amps for KEF ref 101s
CatfishI don't have the Kef 101s but with the other KEF speakers I have when I powered them with a Hafler DH-220 or a Hafler XL 280 the music was great and not harsh at all. Good luck.
'Best' CDP for under $1000 ? Upgrade to GCD-575
Was the Nak OMS7 CDP a design of the 1 & only Nelson Pass as well? I believe Nakamichi used his designs for the PA7 & PA5 amplifiers. Maybe that is why it sounds so good even to this day?
