Rare find Blowtorch Audio Preamp
There were only 38 of the CTC Blowtorch preamps made. The second one was specially made for a guy that only wanted a single stereo volume control. It was the only one made with the single volume control.

Just a guess the mute circuity is ahead of the volume control circuitry section.You might want to contact Byrston Tech support.   Just curious did you try setting the SP3 to a different Line Level input and run a test?
