How to disperse avail. amperage?
I also bought the optional ISOLATED grounding bar for it.Why? An isolated ground bar will serve no purpose. I imagine the panel enclosure will be mounted to wood studs and the branch circuit wiring will be NM-B cable. (Romex is an example of NM-B)...

How to disperse avail. amperage?
I didn't even realize that the ground wire was supposed to return to connect to the main house panel!!Yes it does, as per NEC.I thought we were going to run a ground wire from the sub-panel via a #6G bare copper wire to an 8'-10' pole hammered int...
How to disperse avail. amperage?
Lissnr, You did not mention how far from the house the garage is.Distance from the house main electrical panel, to the new audio room sub panel? You may need to take into account voltage drop. You stated the new sub panel feeder will be buried 18"...
Preamp with tuner.... connections question
Does it have tape-out outputs? If so use them and connect to a set of line-in inputs on the preamp you are using.

Ground Loop
07-20-08: MusicnoiseConnect all chasses together, so that you have one electrical point, use large guage wire. Now use one path to earth from the chassis - i.e. one wire. This should eliminate a ground loop problem.Problem is if a piece of equipme...
US connectors with 220/240v
Timnaim, are you now living in the US and moving to Europe? Is your equipment 120V? If so you will need a step down transformer that will step down the 240V to 120V. On the 120V side you then can use NEMA 5-15R or 5-20R receptacles and your power c...
Mono blocks on different phases of the sub panel?
My monoblock amps are on opposite legs, as a result; I've considered changing it at some point, but haven't been dissatisfied with the sound so have not tried it yet.Rcprince If it sounds good to you that way, that's all that matters. I believe on...
Mono blocks on different phases of the sub panel?
I also agree that any audio equipment that is connected together by ICs should be fed from the same Line, leg, of the electrical panel. I do respectfully disagree with moving all induction motor loads to the other Line of the panel. This can cause...
