my shortlist for integrated Harbethsuper hl5 plus xd - please advise
Just how loud do you listen to your music?  I am using a pair of tube amps around 40W each and they could easily blow you out of the room with the Harbeths!  Power will not be the problem with any of those amps.  Whether they’re worthy of the spea...

Poll: Most impactful component
I think it’s fair to say most people consider speakers to be the single most important link in a system, I won’t disagree with that assessment.  Over the past year or two I have upgraded nearly every component in my system and the one that made th...
"But it sounds better at night...."
Adding a power regenerator made the background go totally silent for me.  I am a big believer in them now.  The overall quiet of night plus beer also don't hurt.
What are your favorite songs or albums for illustrating a deep soundstage?
Listening to some Heart last night I was amazed by the sound stage of Dream of the Archer.  And it is readily available everywhere I imagine.
You've run some pretty fancy MC's, but the _______ MM cartridge really impressed me
I’ve been MC since the late ‘80s (Monstercable Alpha 1), but I did run a Dynavector 10x5 for a while when I needed high output temporarily and was very impressed with what it did at it’s price point.  Not MM I know, but a plug and play alternative...
Suggestions for Phono Preamp
Another here for Parasound JC-3 Jr.  I used it until I decided to upgrade my cartridge and went full blown JC3 +.  It’s like spending money on something that’s not even there it’s so transparent.  Hard to beat at the price, IMHO.
How eclectic is your taste in music?
Pretty much (I think) I regularly play jazz, rock, classical, Bossa Nova, calypso and electronic and fusions of these. Occasionally pop and blues. Rarely country swing Never country or hip hop.

Eydie Gorme - Blame it on the Bossa Nova Caterina Valente - Plenty Valente!
Setting up turntable/Sumiko BluePoint with Pro Ject RS box
I’ve never had a Sumiko cartridge, but I would think the manufacturer should provide most of the info you’re looking for either with the cartridge or on their website.  You can always play with those settings, but they should get you very close to...
Cartridge to turntable price ratio
My two primary tables cost $3000 and $1900 each (quality used vintage tables).  One has a Umami Red ($4000) the other has a Sound Smith Paua ($4000) and a Sound Smith MIMC* mono ($2300).They replaced a Hana ML and a Dynavector 10x5. Both were sign...
Speaker Recommendations: Corner Placement
Off the beaten path here, but a pair of refoamed and recapped Boston Acoustics A400s if you can find them.  A200s are respectable as well, but A400s are the cats meow.
Are Harbeth Super HL5 XD right for me?
@arafiq At best I can only spread them another 18”.  I might try that next weekend, but even if there’s no significant change, they are wonderful as is.  It seems like each day there is a slight improvement as they get more playing time.  Zero reg...

@yogiboy I have them toed in probably about 15-20 degrees each now.  It seems to be where though sound best in my room and with their spacing.
