Does anyone have information on the Adcom 2535
I have had a 2535 since '94. It performs very well as center channel and surround amp. 2 of the channels bridge into 200wats, which I run to my center, and use the 60watt channels to my surrounds.
Your "DREAM" piece
Manley Stingray. I just lust for one of these.
I had a spider crawl in my preamp A Problem?
I had a small bug in my Sony RPTV once. Damn thing looked about 6" long as it crawled across the mirror with the TV on!Maybe after getting irradiated from those 3 big CRT "guns" it wound up 6" long!
Is there any way to get into tubes for super cheap
Check for a Cayin TA-30 integrated. Should be around $5-600. Beautifully built little amp (35watts/channel).
When to use THX Mode?
THX is layered on top of the Dolby Digital or DTS processing during playback, it is not encoded in the material. It is supposed to re-equalize the overly-bright movies soundtracks, and performs some other "magic" I am sure.
looking for tight powerful bass: Mirage or Deftech
I dont know, I had a pair of BP20's, and the bass, while strong and deep was certainly not "tight". This was in different rooms, and much experimentation. I found the DT's to sound "nice", but a bit lacking for and serious listening. As Slappy sai...
Thinking of jumping to analog...which turntable?
How about the BIX w/RB250 for around $700 to start with? Reportedly a pretty nice table at a very nice price. Multiple cartridge choices for this setup also.
Entry level tube pre with pass thru and remote?
How about the TAD-150? Available on auction here regularly for around $800 w/damaged shipping box. Very good reviews here. John
What age did the "audio bug" hit you?
Oh my, I must have been 7 or 8. I lived with my grandparents in the summers, and used to go up in the attic and listen to my aunt's old record player and her 45's. I remember Johnny Cash, and the Everly Brother's Dream. It never ended from there. ...
Need your pre-amp advice
The Anthem is very highly regarded, and is very similar to the AVM-30, which is considerably more expensive. Check out AVS forums, a lot of threads on this subject. John
Help: How to connect my stuff?
#1 will work. What you will need to do is when you select yourYamaha input on the Adcom, set the volume to knob a easy to remember point, such as 12 o'clock. Then you can balance your channels for Dolby, etc. Now whenever you want to watch a movie...
Amazing ''Overachieving'' products...your pick?
Ok, a third on the Cayin TA-30. Amazing value, I paid $599 new.GMA Europas. Simply superb bang for the buck. Although now just over a grand new, can be had for $600 or so on the used market.
Anyone try center backs this way???????........
Years ago, in a small living room, I had the rear surround speakers up high, but facing toward the ceiling. This was with a DPL setup, but it sounded quite nice.
Best Speakers below $1000 for my needs
Strong second on the Europas. Simply amazing speakers. John
Help - Internet radio from PC to stereo receiver
If your preamp has digital inputs, you can get a sound card for $30 or so with digital outputs. This works very well, I have done it for years.John
