Speakers that can reveal orchestral instruments' positions
My Audio Physic speakers image better than my Bache Tribeca speakers as far as instrument placement. However the wider dispersion from the Bache’s sounds more natural to me when I’m listening to orchestral music.
Rethm Maargra Speaker: High efficiency, very easy impedance, built for SET amps.
I do like a number of systems using full/wide range drivers, particularly when those drivers are actually used in multi-way systems. My Bache Audio Tribeca speakers use a wide band driver, sans the whizzer, augmented by a super tweeter and 2 woof...
Harbeth Love and your experiences
I thought I would love Harbeth as a Quad 57 owner. I listened to the M30.2’s a few times but they didn’t do it for me. I ended up with a different speaker.
Emotive sira?
I'm going by memory, but I think the 7044 was warmer sounding compared to the 5687 and 6900. I may have even tried different cathode follower tubes and the 6080. I would have to check my tube stash to confirm. You can always just send me a PM and ...
Emotive sira?
I had the Sira in my system for a short time but I did do some tube rolling for the input tube. Aside from a Tung Sol 5687, I tried Bendix 6900 and  RCA 7044 tubes. The 7044 is a nice sounding tube, but many were noisy. In my Epifania I'm using a B...
Emotive sira?
Going from the stock caps to Sonicaps, the sound became less colored, but also a bit leaner and harder sounding. When Fred changed the Sonicaps to the V-Caps, he also did the autoformer volume control. Since I can't say what each would do individu...
Emotive sira?
It is a wonderful preamp. Fred is a talented designer. I have an Emotive Audio Epifania preamp and Vita tube amps and love it. Music just comes alive. If you want to make it even better email Fred about the copper V-Caps and the autoformer volume c...
Quad ESLs - I have some questions
I’m listening now to my Bache Tribeca’s and wondering if I would even bother to connect the Quads back up again. What’s special about it is the whizzer-less bamboo wide band driver. With nothing in between the driver and my amp it’s very smooth an...
Quad ESLs - I have some questions
I have Quad 57s, rebuilt by Quads Unlimited. Great speakers. That said, I prefer my Bache Audio Tribeca speakers. Beautiful midrange with tight bass and overall a much better balanced speaker.
Can you tell me why I didn't like the Reference 3a MM's?
I am getting excellent results driving my Bache Audio Tribeca speakers with both my Pass XA25 and my First Watt SIT-3. Very smooth midrange with detail and no fatigue, huge soundstage, and tight bass.
Joseph Audio dealer in the northeast?

Advice on Tonearm/ Cartridge combo
I had issues with Grado's Reference cartridge with my SME 309. Every time I would play one of those 45 rpm LPs, the first minute or two were unlistenable. I replaced the Grado with an Ortofon Cadenza Bronze and it was much better. Now I'm using a ...
Audio Physic speakers
My room is 13x21. Soundstage is great, but bass is lacking. I was considering moving up to the Midex or Codex but went with something else.
