PC-Audio vs. High-end CD Player-GAME OVER " Do you think 16/44.1 recordings sound better than 24/96 recordings?"this question can NOT be answered with one sweeping statement like you may want it to. But to answer your question in my opinion, it depends on the DAC and the implementation. I...
PC-Audio vs. High-end CD Player-GAME OVER "With all due respects,I can't understand why anyone would spend big bucks on a USB Tube DAC that can only do 16/48."Single-handedly one of the dumbest most uninformed statements on this thread yet. I will tell you why people would pay this much, ...
PC-Audio vs. High-end CD Player-GAME OVER Aplhifi-I did A/B, many times. For example my Cosecant against an $8k Meridian G08 at a dealer. A room full of people were shocked that the Cosecant killed it, including the owner. The 808 (which is an upsampling player)was another story. You coul...
PC-Audio vs. High-end CD Player-GAME OVER Comparing CD to Vinyl is not an accurate analogy by any means. All of you are forgetting tape. 8 Track, DAT etc...Where is it now? The only thing missing now is a credible place for people to download DRM free Losslessly encoded files online somew...
iMac Sound Quality ALAC is better with the MAC since you probably won't get the metadata without, particularly with WAV. Toslink is better because it isolates, but thats really it's only advantage. So it seperates the noise from one device to the next. MACs are part...
To Wavelngth USB DAC users: Best ripping/playback? I personally could not hear the difference between FLAC and ALAC in my tests..But each is different. One thing is for sure, there is no comparison between MAC and a windows machine for sound. MAC wins hands down. MAC drivers are written so well, a...
would usb sound better than a sound card Once you go MAC with a Wavelength DAC...You ain't NEVER goin back. : ) Longtime and Proud Cosecant (V2) owner. Last source I will ever need. CDP's are dead to me.
PC-Audio vs. High-end CD Player-GAME OVER trust me, it's over. The CD was a transitional medium at best. Maybe it won't settle at USB or HDD for storage, but one thing is for absolute certain. CD's are dead, dead, dead! I stand behind what I say 100% and will be the first to apologize if ...
Hi-fi digital front end suggestions for my system My Wavelength Cosecant has outperformed just about any CDP player I have listened to. Which included a side by side with the Meridian G08 with a whole room full of Audiophile store workers who agreed. Depending on your budget, the Cosecant is simp...
Cables under the rug..... Just don't mix low voltage and high voltage into the same raceway, where ever it ends up being. If you have a basement just drill through the floor at the threshold, come up the other side of the Threshold and continue with Wiretracks around the r...
Devore Super 8 and B&W 805s-shootout Maineiac-According to an e-mail from AG, some do expire if they deem them not a topic that will benefit all over the long term. I am just going by what I was told by AG, and the fact that I have seen many threads (not necessarily my own) mysteriou...
How much does your system retail for? Ralphnoonan-I couldn't agree more, this hobby is at times a sick, very irrational, addiction. A hobby I have always tried to keep from mixing with my credit cards. However, it is something I hold dearly near my heart. With my two day old daughter ...
Ayre V-1Xe vs VTL 450 No one here ever called Chucky an buffoon, although now that you put it that way, maybe it is fitting. Anyway, not important..What is important, and helpful to answer the question at hand is when comparing these two designs, other than the stale d...
Ayre V-1Xe vs VTL 450 Rfogel8- I couldn't agree more with what you said about Ayre equipment, I had the exact same impression in my auditions. Didn't sound like music to me, and next to even VTL's entry level ammplifiers I thought it didn't sound as good. I am no engin...
How much does your system retail for? In total..System is about $16k in equipment...Previous system was about twice that and it didn't sound half as good as my current system. Go figure... |
