Need Opinions for Different Cable Manufacturers/Cable Designs
Some excellent cables mentioned above. If you want a unique cable design, try Paul Speltz anti-cables. His best cable, level 5.3 XLRs, are not inexpensive but don’t cost an arm and a leg either. Clarity, naturalness and dynamics are hallmarks of t...
Wireworld Silver or Gold Eclipse 8 - IC or Speaker Cable?
I used Gold Eclipse many years ago and in retrospect they were excellent cables. They offered high resolution but very sweet and musical at the same time.  Since then, I used Cardas Clear (has a unique sound to them) and Nordost Tyr 2; both are ex...
Recapping old M&K satellites
I owned the satellite 1-A’s from ~1980.  IIRC depending on which terminals are used you have an option to modify the sound I.e. German dome, American, and British.  How are you running your satellites assuming these options are present in the mode...
Spatial Audio Raven Preamp
@lynn_olson I’m a believer!  The Speltz level 5.3 XLR Anticables are very reasonably priced in my opinion and seem to be a perfect match for the Raven.  Talking with Paul Speltz about his cables and pickleball among other things was a pleasure.  M...
Spatial Audio Raven Preamp
I have owned the Raven preamp now for about 6-7 weeks feeding a Pass X350.5 solid state amp.  Compared to my previous solid state preamp, a quite capable Ayre K-1xe, the Raven was better at everything but mostly in the areas of soundstage depth, i...

Can hi-end cables benefit less expensive electronics?
High end cables will color the sound less than mediocre cables and let you hear what your up stream components are doing.  If you have decent components and mediocre cables then when you replace them with "better" cables you will hear the contribu...
Modern Covers of Classics
@soix  If you want to hear a version of Sound of Silence that will give you goosebumps, listen to the acoustic version from "The Ghost of Johnny Cash" with the lights turned off.
Replacing My Maggie 3.6R
@yyzsantabarbara Please post your impressions of the Clarisys after your auditions. Thanks!
Spatial Audio Raven Preamp
Wash your hands often! Seriously, it's the single most effective way to ward off bugs from the mass transit petri dishes. Wish I still lived in Portland, I would have loved to meet you guys.
Atma-Sphere Class D… Amazing
@srama Those are very kind words directed at @atmasphere.  I hope you enjoy your new monos. Please let us know how they sound in your system.
Warm, yet detailed tube preamp
Check the Spatial Audio Raven thread here.  Lots of comments posted by the two designers Don Sachs and Lynn Olson.  I own the Raven and it will be my last preamp.
Spatial Audio Raven Preamp
@donsachs Soundstage depth, image depth and pinpoint imaging is already better than the Ayre which itself was an improvement over the K-5xeMP in these qualities.
Spatial Audio Raven Preamp
My Raven preamplifier from Spatial Audio Labs arrived today and I thought I would post initial impressions.  More folks should be receiving theirs any day now so additional comments from them will be helpful.  The packaging was first rate and the ...
