Any experience with Tannoy loudspeakers?
skoczylas:My experience mirrors yours. No need for a subwoofer with my Tannoys' 15" dual-concentric drivers.
Moderately priced audio
uberwaltz:Okay, I see what you meant by ’mystique’ -- McIntosh has those blue and green lights and Old English font, and it makes good products. However, there are good used products from other brands that can be had readily for half the price of n...
Any experience with Tannoy loudspeakers?
bache:I was joking. I don't listen to hard rock/heavy metal so I have no idea how they would sound on my Tannoys, which BTW go down to 16Hz. It all depends on the room, not on the surround.
Moderately priced audio
uberwaltz:There's no evidence of that 'mystique' preclusion AFAIK.

Salk Sound Owners
I’d drive through Canada because Ohio is always a shitty experience with lots of road construction and state troopers, and then you have the Great Potholes of Michigan :)
Axpona reviewers perceptions and reality
Dave and Troy:I missed your point about perceptions and reality. The perceptions were what? The reality was what? Thanks in advance...
Old tubes vs New tubes
I doubt that there are many good OS tubes on the market. the good stuff has been picked over, sold, picked over, resold, etc., ad infinitum, and most certainly the shadiest crap is on eBay. So, don’t waste your money on OS tubes unless you met the...
Anything wrong with PS Audio DirectStream DACs?
It's a great DAC. Very analog-ish with Redcloud or Snowmass firmware.
Difference Between DAC Types
Implementation is something, but it's not everything. The various DAC chips have unique characteristics that can't be implemented out of existence.
