Roon Trial Put ROON trial one of the MACs and and dont be concerned with the sound quality. Shouldn't cost you a dime to find out all the information ROON provides you with is worth getting a dedicated piece of hardware to RUN the Core.
Bryston BDP-3 VS Aesthetix Romulus Eclipse Well at quick glance the Bryston is a music streamer (files & services) and no DAC. and the AR Eclipse is a transport/DAC combo.
Time To Upgrade My Digital Front End If you have ROON already, try a USED Bryston BDP 3 as a renderer. BDP2 with a BDP3 soundcard on USaudio for like $1k. Then you could compare ROON vs MPD.
MULLARD 12au7 longevity Thanks guys!
Best set-up under $20K I agree with others: add a dedicated streamer and a high quality external DAC . Breath new life yes it will.
Tracks to test tweeter performance Also; Tony Williams work on Miles In The Sky is just amazing.
Tracks to test tweeter performance All great suggestions. Thank you. Quad ribbons currently holding an edge.

dac and streamer or seperates The Krell DAC is not that bad (ES9028PRO Sabre) $1K option correct? and I can only imagine they wouldn’t slack on the implementation, check it out here where they compare it to a comparable priced external. https://www.stereophile.com/content/kre...
dac and streamer or seperates @vonhelmholtz saw a Bryston BDA 3 over on USAudio for $1.5K that might pair well with the Air Lens. Bring you in under $4K.
dac and streamer or seperates Obvious advantages for separates is ability to individually upgrade. The PS audio streamer just came out for $2K and they have factory refurbished DACs (direct stream mkII for $3K If I was going all in one I would look at the Moon 280D If you...
Bryston Support @mahler123 Regarding your BOT experience, I think there is a reason why that unit got discontinued. And I would also say if one pops up on the used market pass it by. You can purchase an aftermarket dvd player that the BDP will control. I als...
Bryston Support @totem395 I dont know but I am in Colorado. BOT is just a little slot loader so shipping is minimal relative to one of their burly amps.
Bryston Support @jafant It's a BOT not a BDP and it would not stay connected to the BDP. I think it had a component inside that had either corroded a bit or come loose. They just tidied it up a bit and it started working. Not sure if they replaced some pieces...
