Which Mono Cartridge at around $1,300.00?
I've been very happy with the Miyajima Premium BE but don't have much other experience with other dedicated mono cartridges to offer comparison. I'm very interested in others experiences.

I am in the Seattle area. I've never Damien live...a series of mishaps (i.e. work obligations) every time I've wanted to see him in concert. Here's a video of an acoustic version of one of my favorites "Cloudy Shoes"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4...

Damien is a local artist...the release party for Maraqopa was at the Neptune. If you like Maraqopa definitely get St. Bartlett which was one of the top 2010 releases. One of the best singer-songwriters out there.
Devore Gibbon 88 vs. Devore Nines
I heard the Gibbon 88's at RMAF and have auditioned the 9's in my system. They are both great speakers. Comparison is difficult because I haven't heard them in the same system. I would call your nearest dealer. John DeVore is also a very approacha...

I have used an A90, Dynavector XV1-s, Miyajima, and Benz LPS with my Talea. They all sound fine. Preference is a matter of taste.

Turntable speed accuracy

How many LP's do you own? How long did it take?
Bought my first record with 11th birthday money in 1974 -- now with ~3,000.
mono cartridge vs stereo
Hard to offer any advice without any system specifics. Additional information would potentially be helpful. In my system, a dedicated mono cartridge makes a definite difference with mono recordings.
how to a/b test turntables
Before serious listening, verify that set up is identical and spot on.For auditioning, pick out no more than 2 or 3 selections from well recorded albums you know wellFor me, it always helps to listen A/B/AGood luck. Please report back your finding...
Blues, Jazz, Rock Violinists?
I like Michael Gray of Pearl Django. If you don't like Grapelli, he might be more to your taste.I usually like Stuff Smith for jazz.If you are in a more adventurous mood, check out Min Ben-Ari; also known as the 'hip-hop violinist'
Man in Black on Black
His first Columbia recording, "The Fabulous Johnny Cash" (1958) is excellent and pretty good sounding. Look for an original 6-eye mono.Another pretty good original Columbia recording is "Carrying On With Johnny Cash" featuring June Carter. The Sund...
