Tips for buying used Vinyl needed
Jwglista's advice is good but I have to disagree with the statement "Beware of mono recordings". I like; make that love mono recordings. Vintage 1954-1969 mono recordings are among the best sounding LPs I own. To repeat; certain labels are well kn...
Tips for buying used Vinyl needed
There is a lot of great advice on this thread:I completely agree with Audiofeil's advice on visual ratings. Even with great sellers, you can get the occasional dud that looks great. If you are trying to buy more collectible, i.e. expensive records...
Why mono?
Acsusreus,In my system I really didn't notice much (any) difference using the mono switch on my BAT line stage or a K&K phono stage.

Wholeheartedly agree with Lou's comments. Killer amp for the price. Dan Wright is also a great guy and provides excellent service.
Anyone checked out Keith Richards new book?
Just finished the book which is composed in conversational style. Great insight into the Stones and making of some great music. A truly unique and interesting life.
Tube preamp choice- Vac Ren Sig IIa or Einstein ?
You have a pleasant choice to contemplate. I've heard both and this will come down to a matter of taste and system synergy. Given the investment you are considering, I would strongly recommend an in home demo -- even if you have to pay for the pri...
Schroder sq and the new talea
Well...I would never state that the Talea is unequivocally better for every turntable and cartridge combination. I can only comment on those systems I've actually HEARD. More to the point, the only combination that matters to ME are the cartridges...
Schroder sq and the new talea
Sebastian's and Halcro's comments are interesting.I've heard the older generation XV1-s and the ZYX on the Talea and Triplanar VIIu and it was no comparison: the XV1-s was much better.I have also compared the older generation XV1-s and the A90 and...

"Price is what you pay, value is what you get" -- Warren BuffettValue is then in the eye of the beholder. The cost of materials Picasso used to create "Guernica" amounted to a few dollars, yet the value of his creation is incalculable. On a larger...
