My Woofer Sounds Like a Tweeter
Could be your crossover is not delivering the goods to the woofer and only delivering high-frequency signals (some of which are getting to the woofer). Just a guess, but that's where I'd look first. I'm assuming the obvious, that the driver itself...

Good wires! I use a pair of RCA's going from my MW Transporter to my pre. I have no experience using his USB or any premium USB so could not comment directly on that one. I'm not familiar with your DAC either, but given your enjoyment of it sounds...

Mattzack2 - I thought you were done? I'm so dissapointed ;-) I love Beth Orton (with an "o" by the way). For your MacMini>DAC you may want to look into an re-clocking interface such as an Empirical PaceCar if you do choose to use Toslink. I wou...
Looking for great violin CDs in solo.
Yo Yo plays the cello. He should be very easy to get recommendations for. He's done some innovative collaborations over the years. The one that comes to mind is Appalachian Journey which I've only heard a few cuts from. If you start to get into th...
To Bridge Or Not To Bridge

Excuse me; I need to go take a cold shower.
Looking for great violin CDs in solo.
Here's two solo, quite different from one another, the second being a bit more sophisticated in musical content and virtuosity. The first being rather stark and enjoyable renditions of Bach, which have been played better by others, yet nonetheless...

I'm still shopping for a good quality high current design to replace my 150.2 and am curious what impact that will have on my system. I'll keep everyone posted.Per previous posts; definitely put the new Modwright amp on your short list. You can r...
distance between speakers
At the 2009 THE SHOW the Audiokinesis speakers were from Duke's new Planetarium series. Same with 2008 RMAF. Yes, then in must have been the Planetariums that I heard most recently as I do recall they seemed smaller than your pics of your own Jazz...
distance between speakers
Clio09, Nice speakers I think. I've read about them and would like to hear them someday. I've always wanted to do business with Duke.Ditto. His rooms were sounding GREAT at two the two shows I've heard them at. I think the Jazz modules were what w...
distance between speakers
I disagree. The OP's question implied that he was attempting to set up his speakers by measuring the placement. Newbee merely said to measure from the drivers.Hmm, you and I understood the OP differently then. I would not make the same assumption ...
distance between speakers
Mockturtle - As I said in my post just before yours, and I thought I made clear in the original; the 83% was a suggestion for a general place to start, not a rule. I completely agree with Dave's observations that no two rooms should be treated the...
distance between speakers
Every speaker and every room is different. In my 50+ years of audiophilia, I've never had a room that didn't have irregular measurements or opennings that would defeat this extremely naive measurement concept.I appreciate the attempt to help with ...

If I can't hear the difference, I guess my dilemma goes to Mb9061's point - do I run the risk of re-ripping in the future? I'd definitely support Mb9061 in his contention that you'd be mighty disappointed in the future to have to rip an entire lib...
distance between speakers
I was reading that "Get Good Sound" book at my friend's place. That book is recommending a general guideline of 83% of the distance of the driver to the listener's ears (should be the same distance for each speaker) as a good place to start for th...
