Importing Artwork
Go to Advanced>Get Album Artwork. iTunes will go through your library and fetch any artwork available and add it to the various files missing it. Sometimes there is nothing available through those channels and you'll need to search it out manua...
Using Airport Express/AirTunes.
It's possible you are getting some 2.4ghz frequency interference from other devices in your area. Can you hardwire the AppleTV via Ethernet? That or get a 5ghz router. If you are getting a strong signal adding additional AE will be a waste of mone...
Most Challenging CD
Hmmm, interesting contrast Elizabeth brings up. Made me bring up Sinead on the system and enjoy some of her stuff I haven't listened to in a while. I get it. But I don't discount the qualities that I think Muralman is talking about. I don't think ...
Help to store hi-rez on external hard drive.
The Squeezebox Touch allows you to attach a USB storage device like a thumb drive or hard drive, without any other interface. The larger the library, the longer it will take to cataglogue via the Touch. I have not tried this with a larger hard dri...
Headphone/Amp Combo for under $800
Andrew- I have no experience with either of the cans you mention. I'm a reluctant headphone user (much prefer speakers) and use them only when my wife requires quiet. Over the past ten years in using cans I've probably gone through as many differe...
Headphone/Amp Combo for under $800
If it is neutral you are after then the HD600's will come closer than the HD650's. The latter emphasize bass a bit more and dip in the treble more than the 600's, and all of that is quite audible. I personally found them damned boring cans mayself...
Orthodynamic headphones, Anyone?
I've read the comments of a few folks, including Skylab, who have liked the WA6 LCD-2 combination. The SE version has just a bit more power and I haven't found it lacking in any way, or with any type of music. They are certainly picky headphones a...
Orthodynamic headphones, Anyone?
Jax2...what headphone amp are you using with your LCD-2s?I use a Woo WA6SE maxxed. It has very good synergy with those cans, but it is quite literally the only amp I've personally tried as I only received my LCD-2's in late September. Wait time is...
Orthodynamic headphones, Anyone?
You'd probably have better luck at Head-Fi on that query. I have a pair of LCD-2's that I like very much, but they are not without flaw. That said, they're one of the very best headphones I've heard. I cannot speak for the Fostex as I've not heard...
802.11n USB network adapter
I tried mixing 802.11g with 802.11n with an "n" base station (router), and had nothing but problems. Perhaps I just am not network savvy enough - but pulling the 'g' AE made everything run a whole lot smoother. No experience with the adapter you l...
Using Airport Express/AirTunes.
I've also had rebuffering problems with the Touch, and I believe it is a known issue. In my case it was probably in some of the network settings I had (which were mostly default). I spent some time going through all my settings, and my Squeezeserv...
Squeezebox Touch vs Transporter
The Touch is excellent at the price point, but my Modwright Transporter (highly modified) was more refined and more revealing with better separation. I never compared the stock unit though, so could not comment. I think the Touch is a real bargain...
Best external hard drive to store PC ripped music
I had a RAID system for several years. I used one of our IT guys to set it up, and it worked very well. But, it is not simple, it is not plug and play as the Drobo is.(snip)Raid is much more involved. The RAID you've had experience with using at wo...
Best external hard drive to store PC ripped music
Drobo is much better, simpler, and easier than RAID, which I used to have.I'm not sure I follow you here. Drobo is a brand. RAID is a technology. If you are using one of their arrays, AFAIK, that is just a mirrored RAID system. Not sure how it cou...
Best external hard drive to store PC ripped music
Michael beat me to it, but I was going to suggest the OP get a RAID solution using it in Mirror mode. You would then have two or more duplicate copies of your music library. If one fails you pull the drive and replace it with a new one - the RAID ...
