Connect 78 rpm turntable to Vinnie Rossi L2i SE amp?
Get an old Dual TT with the 78 speed. I remember reading in Stereophile years ago about a phono stage/equalizer dedicated to optimize 78 playback. Might have been written by the late Art Dudley. Check the Stereophile archives. Grado makes stylii f...
Benchmark AHB2 or Class D (GaN FET)
Nothing new here. THX AAA is just a variation of feed-forward error correction. Peter Walker (Quad) used this method in 1976 with the 405 amp. Later the 306/606 and other Quad amps used feed-forward successfully.
user poll on seperates vs integrated
Separates! Variety is the spice of Life! Darwin had something to say about this if I recall?
RCA Y- cable or is an A/B switch required?
@fuzztone : when I wanted to add some brand-new ICs I bought 5 pairs of the AQ Silver Extremes - a $400 IC! Got them for $90 each from HCM as close-outs from AQ.
RCA Y- cable or is an A/B switch required?
I recommend using the all-metal y-connectors. No short cable attached to it. Eliminates potential wire coloration!
USD vs Yen who is cashing in! TechDAS
Go to Germany and buy yourself a new Porsche for the cost of the TechDas! That's how crazy the pricing of the ultra-high end turntables has become!
RCA Y- cable or is an A/B switch required?
Just use the Y - connector for each channel on the CD player. No harm will come to it!
Increasing a Low output MM
You need a linear amp with added gain - a head amp. The Marcof PPA-1 will work! Battery-powered! I have one for use with low-output mc cartridges. Some Grado cartridges have 1 millivolt or less output.
Taylor Swift Concert Prices
Maybe I am out of the loop because I have never listened to any Taylor Swift songs! Why does she have such fan appeal?
Whats playing on your system today?
Right now in the JVC DVD player/Khadas KTB DAC is CD #2 of Zeppelin's How the West Was Won live recording from '72! Outstanding!
Original Quads (57) - the perfect amp
I'd take the 57's and 25/25 combo over any tube amps - except the Futterman OTL's - any day - speaking from years of listening!
Original Quads (57) - the perfect amp
EBay seller otsonline has the Bedini 25/25 listed at $1599 + $50 shipping. Maybe he would take a bit less? That's the first one I've seen with the 19" rack panel. Plus it has new filter caps. Certainly a rare amp! I still have mine which I bought ...
How rare is an audiophile
A good sign for the continuing viability of the audiophile hobby is the upward trend of LP sales! Plus the stability of the print subscriber base for Stereophile and TAS.
Original Quads (57) - the perfect amp
+1 jperry! I used a Bedini 25/25 for nine years with my Quad 57's. Try to find one now! This was the recommendation of The Audio Critic way back when!
Dynavector XV-1S
+1 dover! Maybe Dynavector also has a trade-in policy for older cartridges?
