best amp to drive Gallo 3.1's? I use a Music Reference rm-200 (100 w.p.c) in conjunction with the Gallo subwoofer amp powering the voice coils. Works very well. On occasion I'll crank up some heavy metal, and have never had a problem with too little power.
gallo 3.1 repair I've not had a problem with my Gallos and listening at high listening levels. I did blow three mid-drivers when I was hosting a party and we were, ahem, performing karaoke over them. My wife still laughs at the thought of seeing smoke puff from th...
NAD C372 & Gallo Ref 3.1 So you think your answer that you do not like Gallo speakers in response to a poster who already has Gallo speakers, presumably has listened to them, and presumably likes them, and is simply asking whether a particular brand of amplification, that...
NAD C372 & Gallo Ref 3.1 Sthomas, how is your reply post in any way responsive to Katee's original post? Katee has a pair of Gallo 3.1 speakers, wants to know if a NAD ampifier will sufficiently drive them, and your response is that you do not like Gallo 3.1 speakers. Thi...
Gallo Reference 3.1 questions... Danmyers, what amp are you using? I was using an early generation Adcom 555 for about a year with my 3.1s, and thought there a veiling to the mids, almost like someone placing a piece of paper over the cones. I upgraded to a Music Reference RM-200...
Gallo Reference 3.1 questions... I think the response very much depends on the room. My room has a big suckout from about 50 hz to 90 or 100 hz. A hump would be a good thing in my room. I use the Gallo Reference amplifier to fill in, as best I can, that portion of the range.Anoth...
Cincinnati, OH, any audiophiles? At this time, I'm in. Let me know where I am going. Thanks.
Gallo Reference 3.1 questions... I agree. In my room, they are incredibly flat from about 120 hz on up. As I previously wrote, my room has a suckout beginning about 90 hz. I suggest that what you are hearing is either the upstream components, more likely the room, set up, or a co...
Gallo Reference 3.1 questions... I agree with the prior two opinions. When I first received the amp., I used it to generate relatively flat response to about 25hz. Which sounds great on paper, but actually had little effect on most music and films. Then, after some playing around...
Cincinnati, OH, any audiophiles? I'd be game. I suggest that you throw out some dates and times, and then anyone who is interested can jump in. Thanks.
Cincinnati, OH, any audiophiles? I'm on the east side of the city, and would like to be a part of get togethers. |
