Wilson Sasha, SF Amati Anniversario, Thiel CS3.7
Looks like you are in for a good time. I am looking forward to reading your impressions.
Wilson Sasha, SF Amati Anniversario, Thiel CS3.7
Elberoth2, Valid point about the adjustable head, I always just thought it was just to adjust the tweeter angle based on seating distance. I just assumed that since wilson does not seem concerned with phase he would also not be concerned with time...
Thiel CS3.7 and CS2.4 comparisons?
I ended up buying a demo pair of CS2.4 this week. I am enjoying them now and they sound great for the price I paid! I don't feel like I need to move up to the 3.7s but I still want to :).Maybe next year I will sell my "new" CS2.4 and get a pair of...
Wilson Sasha, SF Amati Anniversario, Thiel CS3.7
I have demoed the Thiel 3.7 a number of times and I feel they are one of the best buys in high-end audio. I have demo the Sophia for a few hours but only heard a few songs on the Sasha. What the Thiel have that make them stand out is they have a v...
Good amp for B&W 804S for the space-constrained
I would skip the Rotel pre... their amps are ok but I have found better preamps for the money. As always use your own ears.
Good amp for B&W 804S for the space-constrained
I used the now discontinued Rotel RB-1072 (class-D, 100 watt@8ohms, 190 watts@4ohms) with a pair of 703s for awhile and it did a very good job IMO. I paid $500 for it as a dealer demo off e-bay. I feel it is one of the best audio deals I have gott...
Good Sounding Speaker that Won't Attract Thieves?
Well dogs, an alarm system, and.... guns. Also nice surveillance systems are cheap these days.Audiophiles need to realize that they would be a target if low-lifes new what they had. Keeping a low profile is always good. Some people are really into...
Anyone spent time with the Totem Wind?
Maverick your system looks very nice and clean. Good looks and good sound I am sure. What other speakers did you try before buying the Winds, and what did you like about the Winds better?
How do the Magnepan 1.7's sound
Here is a link to a longer review from Jonathan Valin of "The Absolute Sound".Magnepan 1.7 review
My findings on Magico V2.....what now?
Jtein,I see you have asked several times about Thiel 3.7s. I was waiting for someone that owned them to chime in but no one has so here are my thoughts. I have heard them a few times (at the dealer) in a nothing special set up and they sounded GRE...
Experience with Klipsch RB 35 Bookshelf Speakers?
I have spend a good bit of time with the current line as a whole but have never heard the 35. The RB81s replaced the 35s I believe.I like them a lot for what they are. They are pretty balanced and reach down pretty low in the bass. Their drivers s...
Maggies a waste if only 3' from backwall?
Right from Magnepan "A large Magneplanar in a small room is mostly an aesthetic issue and a question of proper bass reproduction", "Buy as much Magneplanar resolution as your budget will allow. However, the objection from family members of a large...
Maggies a waste if only 3' from backwall?
I don't think I would pad the wall behind the speakers. The problem is you can only catch some of the frequencies and will most likely change the tonal balance of the speaker (making them seem dull, and bassy). But you could also try diffusors beh...
Maggies a waste if only 3' from backwall?
I would just buy them and give them ago. Really many many brands of speakers should be placed more than 3 feet off the back wall.....I demoed the 3.6s and 20.1s a few weeks ago in a 14X20X10 foot room with Mcintosh. I thought the sweet spot on the...
B&W 800 series diamond
They look pretty good in gloss black. The new 804 looks VERY classy in gloss black (with chrome accents). The new line looks like it got more of a visual update than a sonic one but I hope they sound better too. There are a lot of picks up on HTgu...
