high frequency intermittent noise Thanks...unfortunately a move is not in my playbook at this time. The noise is not very noticeable once music is playing. Only when there is no music playing then it becomes noticeable. So, it's tolerable for now.
high frequency intermittent noise @fusian I am not using a computer as my source.I tried the ferrites and they had no affect on the noise.I got a set of Sony WH-1000XM2 Bluetooth headphones and I can hear the noise very faintly in my headphones in my apartment. So now this verif...
DIY tube amps I had a blast building a Sun Audio 2a3 stereo amp kit. That was easy to build, but only 3.5 watts or so. Got me into tubes from solid state.
high frequency intermittent noise @xti16 Very interesting - parts 1 and 4. I may try to seek these power cables for audition to see if there is any affect. Thank you for the link.
Horn based loudspeakers why the controversy? @whart Yes, the Cornwall IIIs are driven by the ML2s. I just love the low end bass. This is my first near-full-range speaker. I've had monitors in the past.
Horn based loudspeakers why the controversy? @whart Have you used your Quads with the ML2?I'm really enjoying the Klipsch Cornwall III. Rated at 102db efficiency. I've added a Fostex horn super tweeter to extend the upper frequencies. The super tweeter sits on a Symposium Svelt shelf whic...
Current recording engineers - what cables used? @maplegrovemusic What a fantastic read. It validates what we know.
high frequency intermittent noise Aluminum foil had no affect on the power cord and the speaker cable with the shorting plug in the amp.
Vibration isolation If you are experiencing brightness from using Symposium products, I would try to track down the brightness in your system that you don't like. I have not experienced brightness from Rollerblocks, only what you described above as positives. In my...
Vibration isolation It sounds like you are using various different products at the same time?VooDoo Iso PodsMIG 2.0Herbies soft feetRollerblocksOr are you swapping out these products under 1 component? If so which component are you using these devices?
high frequency intermittent noise Ferrites are on order. I still need more aluminum foil. 👍🏻
high frequency intermittent noise Try adding a choke across the speaker terminals to short out the HF signal.@shadorne What is a choke? How would you implement this? I'm not an electronics guy, learning-as-I-go-here.
power cords with active shielding @jea48 Not yet on wrapping the speaker cable. I need to get more aluminum foil, then I will try that. 👍🏻🤓
power cords with active shielding @kijanki I have a police station down the street, and a fire station down one block from me. So the public safety GSM band would probably be in high usage during the daytime (like what I experience now). I'm up at early hours to enjoy my system ...
power cords with active shielding @kijanki Thank you for that clarification. I too got a Furman device, I got the isolation transformer, the P-2400 IT. It basically removed the noise floor from the music in my system. I am still getting the intermittent GSM signal in my system,... |
