cartridge suggestions w/ LP12
I like the Lyra Helikon with that table. I also listened to a Koetsu Urushi and a Graham 2.0 arm on that table and it was beutiful. It depend son your taste. The lyra is more realistic, the Koetsu is just beautiful
Graham 2: Reliability Issues
Cornfeboy do you know what is the advantage of the 2.2 over the 2.0 as far as sound, or any other advantage?
Koetsu sound
Thanks for your responses. I own a Graham 2.0, Oracle Delphi V Turntable with the Lyra Helicon. I listened to the Urushi on a Graham 2.0 Lynn turntable. Maybe I should try to convince this person to come home with his Urushi and put it in my system.
Hales? MIA or what
The above statement is correct. Except Wadia is allready back under new ownership but with a lot of the same people. Paul Hales left to do Pro audio. I believe the Hales speakers are left out in the cold. Good speaker, but orphaned.
To tube or not to tube...
I purchased a Herron audio Phono Pre, and it is not tweaky. People tell me the tubes should last for years. Keith Herron is very specific about not playing with the tubes he choses. I am very happy with the sound of this unit. It does not sound "t...
Music Hall MMF-5 ?????
Yes, absolutely yes. More money will get you better, but to give you an idea a side by side comparison of an MMF-2 with a Phenomena phono pre and a well respected $4000 cd player was no contest, analog won. I like cd's they are convinient and I en...
Need Turntable advise
I would first ask: What are you using as your Phono Pre, and what is its gain in db? What is your budeget? On the low end a Music Hall MMF-2($300 list including cartridge), new or a used one, the MMF-5 is a worthwhile upgrade($500 list including c...
BEST MUSICAL SUBWOOFER, UNDER 1K
I would listen to the Hsu Research VTF-2, $500 new. It beats any Velodyne, Energy. I think it even sounds better than all the Sunfire subs. The only way you can really tell is to go listen to it. As a guide go to their webb site. http://www.hsures...
Audio Video Processor
I have the Cal Audio SSP 2500. I think it is as good as the best in Home Theater. For Analog Stereo it has a bypass mode I like a lot. The video switching is done on a separate box to avoid noise, and it is HDTV compatible with component inputs an...
Moving Coil Cartridge Demagnetizing
I own the Cardas 'sweep' disc, and it works good for me, about $24.00. Has anyone compared the cardas disc to an aesthetix (benz) demagnatizer? A lot more mula.
Best speaker a wife would tolerate
I had a set of Verity Fidelios home and my wife was happy with them. They sound very good to boot. The Verity Parsifals are only slightly larger. Check others threads with Verity so you see what other people think about the speaker.Hope this helps
Verity Audio Parsifal
I am listening to a Fidelio. Any of you folks with the Parsifal have had a chance to compare them to the Fidelios?
Tired of My Thiel's!!! UPGRADE TIME???
I would first ask how "live" or "dead" is your room. The Thiels like a room on the dead side. I have a live room and the Thiels are no match. I am auditioning the Verity Fidelios and so far has been impressed. They have the speed of elestrostatics...
rowland
I own a Model 10, and I listened before to a Model 8ti. I liked much better the Model 10, and it was less money to boot. It needs a long breaking, at least 200 hrs to sound its best, but you can tell after 100. I am using a TG power cable. I under...
