Rogue audio RP-7 versus PS Audio BHK preamplifier The obvious choice is usually Mullard but they are getting very expensive if you buy from a reputable seller like Andy at VTS. A more cost effective alternative are the tubes made in the Matsushita factory in Japan that was set up with the help o...
Rogue audio RP-7 versus PS Audio BHK preamplifier All you have to do to change the tonal balance of the BHK is change a pair of tubes. It can use 6,7 and 12 volt tubes with a change of the jumper. Not the case with the Rogue which takes twice as many tubes and only one type.
Odyssey "Khartago" Stereo Extreme" amp compared to Schitt's "Vidar" amp Why would I not like your answer George as long as it is honest and not full of your usual hype. The Stratos has been in constant production since the mid 90's and is the original amp. The Khartago came about five years later and again has been ...
Odyssey "Khartago" Stereo Extreme" amp compared to Schitt's "Vidar" amp GeorgeJust out of curiosity as to your supposed "friend" who had the Odyssey amps in for evaluation in Australia what specific amps were those and more importantly what year exactly was that?
Backert Labs Rhumba preamp @maguiar102 What tube maintenance are you worried about. In a preamp like the Rhumba you are looking at a lifespan of five years or more on a single pair of tubes and changing them is from the top and simple. Another option with the Pass amps is...
Only $800 to work with streamer/power for 3rd system Other than the color of the screen the Teac and Lumin apps are identical and both are written by Lumin. They both work fine as does the NT-505.
Spatial M4 TS vs Magnepan LRS The TM's have the better compression driver and are an easier load for tube amps.
Spatial M4 TS vs Magnepan LRS I agree the Spatial's are a more complete product and much easier to drive.
Egglestonworks Emma Evo If you're anywhere near Amherst, Ma. you ought to stop by and see Bob Neill at Amherst Audio. In addition to Audio Note he also carries JM Reynaud speakers from France which fit the description of what you are looking for. The Abscissa Jubilee wo...
TEAC NT-505 - How good is it? No don’t use Roon I just use the Lumin app but since it operates just like the Lumin it shouldn’t have any problems. Same software team does the Roon integration for Lumin, Teac and Esoteric streamers. A lot of D2 owners are going to the Sbooster ...
TEAC NT-505 - How good is it? @aberyclark I owned the D1 and the NT-505 and the D1 and D2 have the same internals and sound the same. I think the D1 with the Sbooster was the better option so that was what I bought. The Teac and the Lumin both operate as a streamer identicall...
TEAC NT-505 - How good is it? Agree on the Lumin app as the Teac, Lumin and Esoteric apps were all written by the same software team and Esoteric/Teac license them from Lumin but the Lumin app is updated more frequently.
Preamp/DAC with an analog input Nuprime DAC-10. Meets all your requirements but no balanced inputs. I have no connection with the seller but there is one for sale on AudioCircle for a good price.
