Where to invest the most in the "digital chain"?
The power cord will go to the dedicated digital gang lead of high quality with a two AC purifiers. Power noise shouldn't be a problem!

@jorjlien it does seem that a DDC makes a positive difference. I'm using a budget one at present which is USB powered and sounds pretty good. I have a Gustard U18 coming which has an internal LPS. I have a spare quality IEC lead waiting for it.
To ROON or not to ROON ?
@classdstreamer - lacking isn't the right word but I consistently lose connection with Tidal connect from Windows 11 and Apple iPad and cannot connect at all with the Android app. Roon just works and gives me seamless integration across both Tidal...
To ROON or not to ROON ?
I wanted to be completely indifferent to Roon and was hoping to send back the cheap NUC I picked up to try it with. There's no going back. It overcomes so many deficiencies in the ifi Zen Stream, Tidal Connect and Qobuz. Roon Radio is 95% brillia...
IFi Zen Stream with Qobuz
Hi, I too have a Zen Stream and a Denfripos Ares II. I tired mconnect and bubbleupnp and absolutely hate the interfaces. It's nearly 2023 and I don't want to use crap software and outdated user interfaces. User experience matters and good softw...
Where to invest the most in the "digital chain"?
@jorjlien you are probably right however I have now implemented a DDC between the Zen Stream and my (new) Denafrips Ares II DAC with a basic Startech USB cable into the DDC and a high-quality Audioquest Coax from the DDC to the DAC. I have experi...
ETHERNET CABLES
I too work with computers and in fact, I work with highly complicated global networking. Guess what? Cables absolutely matter and the correct cable for the correct application is critical. I echo the comments about sticking with Cat6 - I have us...

I've implemented a TP-Link DECO XC80-5G and it is superb. The Wi-Fi circuit is built-in to the ifi Zen Stream.    J
Where to invest the most in the "digital chain"?
@lollipopguild - I've actually removed Ethernet entirely from the path. I have upgraded my Wi-Fi router quite significantly and switched to the Wi-Fi circuit in the Zen Stream which sounds superb (and Wi-Fi is about as 'isolated' as you can get co...
Where to invest the most in the "digital chain"?
@donnylovely - that is very interesting indeed. I have replaced my Amp and DAC and that has resulted in great improvements. I'm currently using USB into my Ares II DAC with an ifi USB iPurifier3. I have tested with and without the iPurifier3 and ...
Lumin U1 Mini - how to set up Network *without* Ethernet cables?
Very nice indeed - I've had my Ares II in for 24 hours now and it's already sounding amazing.
Lumin U1 Mini - how to set up Network *without* Ethernet cables?
@ozzy62 - that's really good to know and it's also what I would expect from a brand such as Lumin. Out of interest which Lumin streamer do you happen to have, and which Denafrips? I've got an Ares II winging its way to me tomorrow and I'm a tad ex...
Lumin U1 Mini - how to set up Network *without* Ethernet cables?
Thanks again @audphile1. In my head, if I'm paying over £1k for a network transport - a device whose job it is to connect to a network and grab high-resolution audio files to send on to a DAC, then I don't really want to spend another £1k to make...
Lumin U1 Mini - how to set up Network *without* Ethernet cables?
Thanks @audphile1, that is encouraging. Did you compare the Eno to "just" better cables"? As the Eno is not a cheap add on I'm assuming it gave you sufficient bang for your buck?
Lumin U1 Mini - how to set up Network *without* Ethernet cables?
I've just found this thread and it is interesting indeed. I currently have a Zen Stream as my network bridge/transport and it has excellent Wi-Fi which has allowed me to get rid of a lot of complexity (I experimented with FMCs, SFPs, Cisco switch...
