Where do you buy Hubbell wall socket? I used an industrial version of the Levinton, which worked better than the hubbel in my case ($20). They are rated to start motors with heavy inductive loads. Don't forget to shine up the wires connecting the socket (with the power off).
Tubes in Audio Research Equipment: 6550 DEM -- You are also correct -- ARC does bias EACH 6550C at 65ma. The VT100MKI & II uses 6550C x2 in each side of the push - pull circuit, making the bias setting across the TP 130MV, equating to 130ma of current running through the resistor. I...
Rock? money down the drain? Thank you CwLondon -- I like your post. I just had an experience with a dealer that I tried to play "rock" on a single ended system... I was trying to broaded my experiences.. When I told him the system sounded like crap - he told me that it wasn'...
Tubes in Audio Research Equipment: 6550 DEM, You are mistaken about an "auto-biasing circuitry " in the ARC VT100 and VT100MKII. The tubes need to be matched quads, because if they are too different, it will take out one or more resistors, reduce the sound quality, or reduce the tube li...
Audio Research 100.2 amp Also take a look at the VT100s.... I personally prefer the tubes to the Solid State in ARC gear...
What is your opinion for MIT850 shotgun? If your ears don't like the sound, you may ditch the MIT cables with this mix of equipment... Try some of the higher-end AudioQuest, Transparent Audio or Cardas.... Anything MIT may be too laid back with your system and the Eidolons will immediate...
Why Don't More People Love Audio? Is it that 2 channel is perceived as yesterday's news?? I know a couple of people who are doing well and they all have dedicated home theaters. Is it that you can finance a great deal of HT equipment into a home loan with out a problem?? I have ne...

Best wires for cost Does anyone know a source on the web for the Belden 1701A Cat 5. I am going to try this since I am also wiring up my in-home network... Ehider, what terminations did you use and have you tried this in an XLR configuration? Solder or crimp??
Arc LS25 and LS25 mk 11 LS25MKII and VT100MKIII was very nice... I did not have a VT100MKII to compare to the MKIII. I do not think that ARC went "backwards" with either of these upgrades. It is $1600 +S&H to take the VT100MKII to MKIII. I am going to try VT100MKIII ...
Arc LS25 and LS25 mk 11 Went and listened at my local dealer. They had a demo MKI and a new out of the box MKII. They were both energized for at least 4 hours... The MKII did better bass definition, more holographic sound stage, better image placement, more dynamic, lowe...
Arc LS25 and LS25 mk 11 Do it -- It is awesome!!
Audio research LS25 any opinions I own one (2yrs.) and think is is awesome, especially with NOS tubes. I have heard the MKII as well, and it is really nice (almost current REF2 level). I give a thumbs up!
Decisions, decisions.......AR LS5mkIII?? Check out the LS25MKII before you make your decision -- They will have to do something with the REF line, because the LS25MKII is wonderful. I have owned the MKI for a year and love it. Will be upgrading to MKII ASAP. No info on the web site, talk...
BUZZ IN SPEAKERS Call me silly, but why is your stereo on the same line as the fridge?? I would get the circuit for the fridge removed from your stereo circuit as soon as possible and run the stereo on dedicated wiring... |
