Why do so many sellers take offense to offers on their listings?
I'm with @mikelavigne . I work in sales and price is usually the starting point the buyers use to engage and smokescreen. It's up to the seller to provide something besides price if they want to close the sale and keep their margins. I've ma...
Benz Micro Glider Stylus protection
I had a big plastic box built at Tap Plastics that I drop over my entire table. This has helped my dust associated neurosis as well as keeping my cart out of harms way. I can be as sloppy drunk as I'd like and not have to worry about it coming int...
Looking for Advice on Focal Speakers
I owned the Aria 936's for about 9 months and never warned up to them. I always felt the tweeter was disconnected from the rest of the drivers and they didn't disperse evenly and together. I moved up to the Electra 1028 and absolutely loved them. ...
Butcherblock Acoustics "feet" effecting sound and isolation
I have the regular rubber feet under my Butcher Block Acoustic Platform that I use for my turntable. I couldn't believe the difference it made. Maybe try the rubber feet out as they're not too expensive. I'm super happy with mine.
Primaluna or not Primaluna
I owned the Primaluna Evo 400 integrated. It was a nice start into tubes. I then purchased a Dialogue Premium Pre and ran it through the HT input and it was a fantastic upgrade. I then went to a Dialogue Premium HP Poweramp for about a year or so ...
Simaudio 400m / 860A vs PS Audio BHK250
@dynguy that's what I imagined we would hear from Sim and I believe it. From what I've heard the chassis is a major input cost so the 760 should hopefully blow away the 400m. I guess in moving on front considering the 400m for sure now. More in th...
Simaudio 400m / 860A vs PS Audio BHK250
@jerryg123 I've been eyeing those Atma-sphere Class D's. Not sure if dealers allow in home trials with them or not. Don't know if there are any dealers in my area or how that process works for Atma-sphere. The tubes in the m1200's is what has me r...
Simaudio 400m / 860A vs PS Audio BHK250
@sdw @jbuhl I like how this turned into a PS Audio thread. Lol. I was hoping to go for the Moon gear but for $3k less I guess I could give the M1200's a try.
Simaudio 400m / 860A vs PS Audio BHK250
@sdw would you say they compete in their own way with the A/AB stuff? What did you like about them?
Simaudio 400m / 860A vs PS Audio BHK250
I'm using a Primaluna Dialogue Premium Pre.  And really no humidity in Texas? My time in Galveston and Houston there was quite a bit of humidity, but sure lol.  Yeah I'm upstairs. We have 24ft ceilings so all the heat rises into the rooms upstai...
Simaudio 400m / 860A vs PS Audio BHK250
@jerryg123 this is awesome to hear. I'm in California so the only difference is probably the humidity! Would you think I'd be losing a ton of fidelity moving the monoblocks that are essentially half the price of the BHK? Do you think it could be m...
Simaudio 400m / 860A vs PS Audio BHK250
@dynguy thanks for the info. I've seen the 400m in person and they are barely warm to the touch in standby, but I haven't experienced listening to them or their heat output but is assume it is very very low.
Simaudio 400m / 860A vs PS Audio BHK250
@overthemoon any idea how cool they run? I understand it isn't an exact science but using a thermo laser my BHK runs 122-124 and is just way too hot. I figured heat specs would be way more common for amps while they're running. All I seem to find ...
Simaudio 400m / 860A vs PS Audio BHK250
@jimbones I'm to the point to where I find a cooler amp or buy 20ft runs of interconnects and 20ft runs of speaker cable and keep the amp and pre in another room. We'll see how that goes if I do.
Most economical way to ship large speakers?
How economical you want to be isn't worth the cost if the speakers arrive damaged. Its worth to extra cost to make sure they arrive safe and sound. I'll be going palletized from here on out since FedEx doesn't stand behind their insurance.
