Michael Fremer leaves Analog Planet @frogman spot on. So many here want to criticize a reviewer for trying a tweak or SR product and then also criticize them on the opposite side of the review. This whole non-start ideology is not productive. And the reviewers seem to know a whole...
Michael Fremer leaves Analog Planet @mr_m you can speculate as much as you'd like. I work in sales with contractors face to face, daily. I don't think I'd be the guy who would be offered by Michael Fremer, sorry.
Michael Fremer leaves Analog Planet @mr_m I wouldn't take it to heart. I personally choose not to let someone who is in their feelings and unable to articulate how they feel to dictate their entire persona. Maybe people have bad days and say the wrong thing? Maybe he meant it and is...
Michael Fremer leaves Analog Planet @bdp24 Spot on. Some here dislike a person over one trivial human flaw. Or even choose to hate a person over reviewing luxury good. It's pretty nauseating to have to see how arrogant and self involved some are. Fremer has done great stuff for the ...
Audio Research, AYON and Primaluna tube amplifiers. Hey @ghdprentice could you tell me a little bit more about the detail differences from ARC to Primaluna? I run Primaluna separates and I've been eyeing ARC preamps and assumed that my Dialogue Premium is on par with the ARC LS28 and improvements w...
Michael Fremer leaves Analog Planet @frogman his quirky personality and how he speaks his truth is why I've enjoyed him so much. Plus he's hilarious. There are so many sticks in the mud in audio and all this weird classism over products +$100k, I've always gravitated to the guy. Sur...
Michael Fremer leaves Analog Planet Pointless drivel about someone else's pointless drivel. Great. Looks like it's been posted: https://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/eminent-audio-reviewer-michael-fremer-returns-to-the-absolute-sound
Michael Fremer leaves Analog Planet Wait TAS? Man I might have to actually read them now....As a younger hifi enthusiast he's all I've had to look up to so I trust where he goes. Did he own Analog Planet?
I'm at the pearly gates and they tell me I can only bring in one jazz cd None. Hell is torture enough.
Upgrading from Primaluna @gasherbaum thanks for the insight. What did you prefer in the ARC over the Primaluna? I'm sure the higher ARC gear blows the PL out of the water, just kind of curious how and what you heard?
Step up From Rogue RP-5 You'll be walking on water with that budget. You can buy an end all be all phono with that budget as well. I'm also considering upgrading from my Primaluna Pre to either an Arc Ls28se or Ref6 as well. I'll be following this closely.
Focal Sopra, Kanta, Aria @winoguy17 is spot on. Owned Aria 936 and never loved them. I sold them off and went to Electra 1028BE and those were the first speakers to amaze me. I now have the Sopra 2's and they took a great deal of time to settle in to get rid of brightness...
Audioquest Storm Series power cables From what I've heard you should always put your best cable on your power conditioner, first and foremost. I have a hurricane on my PS Audio P10 and it's fantastic. I've definitely been eyeing some Shunyatas to compare to my Thunder. Fun stuff.
Awaiting a 1st impression It seems Primaluna is stretching out of the value brand and into the upper echelons of price. I'd love to hear one, but a lot can be had for $7300. Wished they would have made a power amp.
Butcher Block Acoustics @mijostyn the rubber feet seem to be blocking more frequencies than the mass loading spiked feet on my turntable as well as the solid steel rack. Works for me! |
